    2017 Fluke Regulations FINALLY Set!!

    Council votes for three fluke at 18 inches starting May 25


    The N.J. Marine Fisheries Council, meeting in Avalon this afternoon, approved the compromise fluke season worked out with the ASMFC last week. As a result, the season will open on May 25 with three fish at an 18-inch minimum -- but will close on the Tuesday after Labor Day.

    It's about time. With the way things are the opener will be a descent mix of fish. Boat is cleaned motor serviced. I'm ready. May sneak out to catch some blues.

    Party boats may take a hit on this one. A lot of money to just boat 3 fish. At least striped bass you get pretty good amount of meat...

    Party boats will be ok, except losing Sept. Most don't catch 3 keepers on party boats anyway let alone 5. Charter guys will take it the hardest, how many will still pay $150 for 3 keepers?
