    Merrill Creek Reservior

Has anyone ever fished here? I usually use my kayak for back bay stripers but would be interested in anyone's experiences here.

Lookup Ken Beam, either here or on Facebook. He's a big kayak fisherman. I'm sure he's fished there before. I fished it a long time ago, so I wouldn't be much help, but the water if I remember was crystal clear!

Yes. I have fished there. The trout fishing is good especially early season. They stock it well. There is a section that has dead standing trees in 8-20ft of water. The bass fishing is tough. Lake gets a lot of pressure just like any other NJ state lake. Week ends are really busy. fish there during the week and its good. Its a nice area though.

    .

The thing I hate about Merrill Creek Reservoir is there is a "curfew" - a time you have to be out the water and off the property by.
There is one launch ramp and a guy in a booth who takes your license plate number down when you launch. At closing time the gates are locked. If you make the worker wait, they get really pissed. You could probably get fined for being late, too.

Some people do extraordinarily well there, but I never catch anything big in MCR.
