Really old. I only know a little about it. I purchased it off a 81 year old man who said it was his dads

I presume in that caliber it is a repro, possibly the Uberti model. On here it's a $700 gun, maybe $400 to a dealer. At a gun store I have seen Uberti's going for $900 to $1100. I think Taylor's may also have a version. If it's .38 it probably will also chamber and fire a .357 cartridge.

iI don't know how old "really old" is but these repros go back at least to the early 1970's as I had one in .38 special/357 Magnum. I don't think any of the originals were chambered in .38 special, a pistol cartridge, maybe a 38-55. Can you read and post all inscriptions that appear on the barrel?

From what I read when it says 38 caliber it's 38-40.

You would have to include pictures of all markings, close-ups of finish and any engraving, as well as serial number to have any chance of determining a fair price.
If you had it appraised already, i would imagine that they would have told you some of the specifics.

Never heard of a 38 WTC.
