I have a shotgun sold to a guy in Cali but five different FFLs refuse to send me a copy of their license for me to ship. I have in the past never been refused a copy of the FFLs license. I have heard all one needs to legally ship is the FFL number as checked on FFL EZCheck then ship to that address. thanx

There is a new delema running rampart across the country. FFL holders will not accept a gun from a non FFL holder. Why? I have no idea but it has started in Utah and is spreading. My guess is they see NJ and the red flags come out. Ask the buyer to provide a FFL holder that will accept from non FFL holder.

Stevo, he has asked five different FFL holders and none will part with a copy of their license. Ashame, as I have the money in my hand, now I send it back. Now I see why some people say no Californis sales in gun ads.

You can go to the ATF's website and get a list of current FFLs. Just make sure you send it to the address listed.

I just sold a gun to someone in PA and the dealer there told him it was illegal to give out his FFL number. Considering its on the ATF's site for the world to see he doesn't know what he is talking about.

That's why you have to put the burden on the out-of-state receiver to find a FFL to accept shipment from you or pay for you to ship via your local FFL.

Most guys are nervous about handing out there FFL number. The EZ check does not need the full number to use. You need the first 3 digits and the last 5.
http://www.atf.gov/applications/fflezcheck/ You can always send the shotgun FFL to FFl if the new owner wants to pay the added costs.

A 9mm may expand to a larger diameter, but a 45 ain't going to shrink

See my previous post. The FFL #'s are on the ATF's site for anyone to see. They are not a secret.

I guess some FFL holders aren't aware of this

I called the ATF in Washington this morning and an agent told me I can ship my shotgun to an FFL in California, using the FFL-EZ Check. My NJ FFL Agent can't because he refuses to register his dealership in Cali. and enable their cause to stop guns being brought into the state. I'll sell the shotgun locally.
