Well I had 2 cameras stolen last year and do not want it to happen again. I've been racking my brain for months on how to make a box. I finally found what i wanted with the least amount of welding and fabricating. The box is a little overkill, but hopefully lag bolts and 3/8 steal will stop some scumbag from stealing it. Only downfall is it will not stop someone from breaking the camera, but hopefully if they do I will get some pictures of them. I will be hanging it in the woods tomorrow so wish me luck. If it works well, then I may try better cameras in the future, but for now the $100 wildview is going to have to do....

All honest feed back is welcome

here's a tip... put the cam 10 ft up facing down. Keep it out of the potential thief's view. They will never think to look up.

Very Nice I like that. Where did you get the thick metal box?? I am using metal ammo boxes chained to the tree. I do like what you made.

The steal is 3/8 tubular steal. All I did was weld a top on it and cut the hole out for the camera, etc. All I need to do is attach it to the biggest tree I can find....

I also attached some wood on the inside so the camera would have a tighter fit. The locking device is just a 3/4 inch bolt that I drilled a hole in for the lock.

    Jason,
A question for you...I assume the nut is welded on to the bolt and the lock holds the bolt in place so you can't pull it out?

If this is the case, a hacksaw may be able to cut the bolt where it meets the nut. The bolt will then slide out the other side.. Check it out..
