New to New Jersey looking for help

Hey guys brand new to this forum, first post. I am from Bucks county pa and hunt the Delaware river and fields in PA. This upcoming season (2017-2018) will be my first time purchasing a NJ license. Was just looking for maybe some tips or help about how to hunt and what I need to prepare for hunting the coastal marsh. I have a dog but no boat. Thanks in advance for any help!

First and foremost! Don't get discouraged by the amount of ball busting that goes on in this site, Most will be helpful and a few will make you chase your tail.

Coastal salt marshes in Cumberland, Cape May and Atlantic counties are good.

I am no duck hunter but most use some sort of boat. One man boats are pretty reasonable. Welcome to NJ and I hope you get some help from others on here with more knowledge than me.
I hunted Pike county PA for many years , I miss PA

    Welcome!

Before you wonder why a "rebel" from NC is giving you advice on hunting Jersey, just know that I spent the first 47 years of my life hunting & fishing my home state, from High Point to Delaware Bay.

I used to duck hunt with a good friend of mine along the bayshore salt marshes of Cumberland Co., near Bivalve & Shellpile in Commercial Twp. A lot of these sites along the bay are reclaimed salt hay farms that have been returned to their native state through a wetlands restoration initiative, undertaken by PSE&G. Lots of great coastal hunting with surprisingly little pressure. Great variety of ducks from mallards, pintails, & black ducks to green-winged teal, merganzers, & the occasional canvassback. This area is included in NJ's "southern", as opposed to "coastal" zone. I've attached some info links below, for you to investigate at your leisure.

PS. Don't worry about intruding on "our spot" ... My buddy who introduced me to the hidden gem has since passed away, & I won't be making it back there anymore from down here. Enjoy & good luck!
