Sorry to hear you need an oncologist. I've heard good things about this location.
Animal Emergency & Referral Associates
Have any of you had to take your dogs to an oncologist? I have the unfortunate necessity to do so and am looking for recommendations and/or feedback.
I was referred to a specialist at Blue Pearl in Manhattan but would like some other options.
Sorry to hear about your dog. They are family for sure. Oradel Animal Hospital or Red Bank Animal hospital. Both are world class. Or go to Penn university.

Sorry that you need to ask for an oncologist.
I'll second Red Bank Animal Hospital - the one at Tinton Falls.
A first class facility - I haven't had the need for an oncologist (thank God) but I did find a top notch neurologist and ophthalmologist for my dog there when needed desperately- they saved my dog's life.
I would be astonished if they didn't have excellent oncologists associated with them.
They are not cheap but a dog is family...

Thank you guys. Appreciate all the recommendations. Red Bank was what I had in mind as well. MikeC, I am going to give that place a call as well. I actually had his ACL surgery done at Penn and was very satisfied with it. I think Red Bank is as good but I won't have to do the long drive. And yeah, he's def family so it's worth the price, in my opinion.
Dog + cancer = no good. Sorry to hear it buddy. Hopefully treatment can be effective for your pup. My rottie died of liver cancer 2 years ago. Unfortunately, by the time we realized what it was, there was nothing we could do
Just had the same issue with our yellow lab, she had an ugly tumor growing on her lip. Our holistic vet suggested we have it removed and have half of it sent to a company in Tampa that makes cancer vaccines with a 100 percent cure rate. If you send it to them and it's not needed, you wasted $250,if it is needed it's another $2,000 and they send you a vaccine one a week for 4 weeks, than once a month for 4 months and your dog is cancer free with absolutely no side effects like chemo and radiation. Obviously the vaccine is sent to your local vet and it is injected into a lymph near the tumor. Our lab is now cancer free and the best part VIP pet insurance did pick up a good part of the bill. Our current vet is here, the healing place.com,our other great holistic vet, doctordeva.com can help you anywhere via phone consulting. Good luck.
I had to use Oradell for their Heart specialist, They were excellent and very caring. The Bill also runs up very quickly. I spent over 5k and that extended my 9 yr old pointers life by 2 months. They did everything they could for her. It is hard to think with your head and not your heart when dealing with your best friend. Good Luck to you and your dog.
I didn't care for Oradell but was very happy with Red Bank and it is considerably further away from me here in North Western NJ
