Got a price yesterday for a 14k whole house Generac generator . Was wondering if anyone had one installed to compair prices. The price I have gotten was for all permits and instalation. And yes 14k will run my house with no problem.

Is this a generator that runs off propane or natural gas?

It is the one that runs off natural gas but could also run off of propane.

Electrician buddy of mine said the gaurdian system was pretty good. I think Home Depot carries it.

Notenough----- It was for the 14k standby unit. The 14k smart Circiut was a little more. The only difference in the two was the smart circuit starts your appliances at a staggered rate as to not over load the system with a direct surge of need for electric. I am only need a 9k system so I over sized with my looking at the 14k. So I dont really need the smart system I was told.

STEVO-----Yes they sell them at home depot also. The company that I am dealing with is the instalation company for H/D .

I've got a Generac 24Kw system (I wanted to be sure I could run everything in the house and didn't need more capacity after I installed)and love it. I got it several years ago and it cost in the mid teens if I remember correctly. You will find the automatic feature a true blessing. When the mains drop there is about a 30-45 second delay, the generator starts and the lights come back on. When the mains return the generator stops and all is well. I'd never be without one again.
