I hope NJ thinks about having a Bow season next year.
"All that evil needs to Triumph is for good men and women to stand by and do nothing"
Fish and Game Bear Mgnt plan mentions bow season as a viable option for bear management, so lets keep our fingers crossed and perhaps a few letters to the officals on the matter
Already spoke w/ the higher up's no bow for a cpl of years and maybe not at all.
I could see F&G not wanting the anti-hunting crowd to get ahold of a picture of a bear running around with an arrow sticking out of it, would not be too good for the cause
That's a BS reason...but if there was an archery bear season all you would hear from the federation is how the bowhunters are killing all the bears...kinda like they're saying now about Bucks with the DF&W squawking about cutting 3 weeks outta the bowseason next year...I could see F&G not wanting the anti-hunting crowd to get a hold of a picture of a bear running around with an arrow sticking out of it, would not be too good for the cause
There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil.
The man who says "I may be wrong, but--" does not believe there can be any such possibility...sounds like a crossbow shill from Kentucky to me...

A bow hunt would be a much better way to control the population as there are more bear out and about and not already in their dens.
There is a NJ Fish and Wildlife spokesman in a video clip on the save NJ bears webpage. He says something to the effect that the timing of the bear season now limits the amount of bear taken since sows are denning up this time of year.
So it may be a while before there is a season during a more reasonable time of the year. I guess it's better than no hunt at all.
