Would be stolen by our crooked politicians for their own agendas. Just like everything else in this liberal ran state.

Anyone who chose the first option is saying we trust the government. Even if it did go to NJDFW in the beginiing how long do you think that would last.

In order for NJF&W to receive any funds from the US F&WS as a return of the federal excise taxes we pay on boat fuel, rods, reels, lures, bait and other tackle, etc, the license money would by law have to go into the dedicated 'Hunters and Anglers Fund' which is where all of our license, permit and stamp fees go. The pols can't touch this fund, it's protected by our state laws and constitution. Slimeball governer Jim McGreevy once tried to transfer 4.1 million from the Hunters and anglers fund into the Parks and Forests annual budget. That intended move lasted all of about 3 weeks tops. In light of the immediate filing of several lawsuits by a number of NJ sportsmens orgs as well as a rapid response from the US F&WS McGreevy quickly reversed his decision and removed his greedy little paws from 'our' money. In general our liberal pols greatly dislike the fact that they can't touch the H&A fund, but it's the only thing that permits the Div to have 'some' degree of autonomy when making decisions regarding fish and wildlife issues such as season dates, bag limits, legal species for harvest, etc.

Wow....203 "sportsmen" viewed the poll, 9 actually bothered to vote (par for the country I guess), and only 2 had the knowledge of how funding conservation really works.....a user/pay system that has worked for many years throughout the country. Nothing in life is free, and that includes salt water fishing. We have a 19 inch fluke size limit because we don't have biologists to provide fishery data to refute the federal claims what part of the quota we should get, we have 2 state boat ramps between Sandy Hook and Tuckerton, and about 8 conservation officers to inspect 1 million salt water anglers as well as the commercial fleet. Just as I expected the poll would show (besides the voter turnout which I thought would be higher), the NJDFW need to educate its constituents about how funding conservation works through the Hunters Anglers Fund and get some support behind generating some money that will help save conservation in the most densely populated state in the nation. And what kicked this off was my pal bought his new license in January and the guy behind the counter in a well known sporting goods shop told my pal all the license money goes to building roads and low income housing. Ugh!
