Definitely not needed, I shot a doe while walking in the opening day in the afternoon without a shirt on as it 80° and humid a few years ago. But definitely helps if they see you but can't make out what you are.

Would've been a lot cooler if you were a chick doing some topless hunting/walking to your stand but....

It helps but I don't think it's a necessity to kill a deer. My brother doesn't really wear camo other then jackets, he wears thermals and blue jeans

most predatory animals have natural camo but lack of movement and objects "branches and such" between hunter and prey is the best way not to be seen.
imitating nature is the best option

aren't deer color blind, and camo is to just break up your figure. I use a purple and yellow digital camo mask.. I figure you can wear neon orange and blue, as long as it has some kinda design on it?

The Amish drive them. Very seldom do they stand hunt.

Don't need it, I've shot deer without it. More important to stay still. Not sure why but if I don't have gloves on, I feel naked and exposed lol. I would rather wear a street clothes with camo gloves than head to toe camo w/no gloves. My logic is your hands are what you move the most. Feel like I'm waving around two white flags when i'm gloveless. ( maybe I should stop waving at the deer though) haha
