I just heard that the wonderful governor is shutting down the Hagedorn center for geriatrics and mental facility in Glen Gardner as soon as possible. I know of 6 families that the husband and wife both work there, not to mention the 400 other people that are employed there whose families depend on the income. Put that together with the school aid cuts that he will be announcing on the 16th,which will make property taxes go up for the towns that depend on it. Also not to mention the custodians that will be losing their jobs. Hey,but at least it looks like you guys will get your bear hunt.(I say you guys because I have no desire to bear hunt) __________________ Some people's heroes wear capes. My heroes wear combat boots

Yes it sucks what he is doing but he has taken over where the Dems have overspent and borrowed us to where we are now. He has some very touch choices to make and I'm glad I don't have to pick and choose who goes to the chopping block.
On the other hand Obombass is trying to run the whole country in the ground and doing a pretty good job at it. ![]() ![]() __________________ REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER

first and foremost I have no info on the mental facility so no comment on that. However what he is cutting from the schools is the sumplemental money that the school systems admit that is not needed, but not all of it he is giving them a certain percentage more than what they do need. I don't know how everything got blown way out of proportion on this, teachers jobs won't be cut,pay won't be cut ect. with less money going to the schools, which remember the admit the didn't need what Corzine gave them for a budget, there will be less taxes. At least that is what he is shooting for.
I have seen some of the desks of the personel in the office in the 2 schools my son attended, while the one he is in now the office staff and principal has normal desks the last one had desks that were something you would see in an high paid executives office. Now ask yourself, is that really needed?,how much did that cost the taxpayers? and other question simular to that. I am personally going to write him a letter asking exactly what he is doing as far as schools and teachers pay ect goes. My wife is a teacher as well and I would like to know. I have a feeling if the mass hysteria is right and he is going to cut pay it is going to be in the areas that are paid way more than other areas. for example I know they capped out certain shool systems teachers salary at 88 k a year but what troubles me these are small school systems with much fewer students than some of the ones elsewhere, and far less dangerous. Like I said he will be getting a letter and I will find out what his exact plans are and post them here, and on facebook. |

I just talked to my sister about it(she works there) and she said that he is also closing one in S.Jersey,Ancora I think she said the name was. Whee are they going to put all the clients? And there's also talks of him privatizing more of the state prisons. A lot more unemployment coming our way. __________________ Some people's heroes wear capes. My heroes wear combat boots

We have to pony up and pay for the all the vote buying. This is the end result when the majority elects people who promise benefits at no cost....sound familiar? Regarding bear hunting economics, that will bring an actual profit to the state as any other F&G licensed/permitted program does now.

But, don't be surprised by the fact that some of them sought board membership for their own agenda on your dime. __________________ Great Notch Electric LLC

Sorry about your friends, but thank God for the cuts. Its about friggin time! Your barking up the wrong tree for sympathy with me bud. These people have been sucking at the states tit for way to long, its about time, because I'm sick and f##$#ing tired for paying for them.
And don't even mention Ancora, how many more people had to mysteriously die before that slaughterhouse got shut down. |

Now if the aides are in classes with students that do not need them that is a problem. Just so you guys know he also has a problem with his motor skills, he gets real shakey when writing and it hurts his hand badly. I don't remember what it is called but he got a lap top type deal that allows him to do his writing work in class. I also have bought him some toys and stuff to help him with his motor skills and hand writing. If anything in this day and time he will have a head start on keyboarding. |

I think he is trying to equalize what the schools get and trying to get them to follow their budgets and not overspend on unnessesary Items and so on. I am also quite disturbed that the school system my son is in charges for bussing to and from school where other districts don't. I don't know if thats how the try to keep the taxes lower or what. that is something else I need to check up on. If there is a good fair reason behind it I will support is, but if there is some BS reason I will work on getting it changed. |

The cuts in spending have to come from somewhere.State employees will lose jobs and state sevices will be suspended. This will negatively effect peoples lives.
That being said I believe that goverment spending is WAY out of hand and drastic cuts are needed. The sad part is that paople have had to rely on Goverment for jobs and sevices for so long they believe that it is something that there entitled to. Now I know some people will disagree and say that we should spend state money on these things no matter how much it cost, Even if it means a large tax increase. But we cannot continue to run this state on a ever expanding deficit or we will be in the same shape as California. __________________ Surpass the master and you have paid his wager.

People have to be responsible for THEMSELVES. The Gov't cannot just give for everything just because it is needed. Plus the way we are taxed is ridiculous especially when it comes to the schools. ALL schools cut directly at the students first because of the support it generates from parents. Need to cut 1 million from the budget, CUT the administrative staffing.ANd MOST importantly the state should NOT be the biggest emploer in the state. Remember the past 2 years NJ is on the down slide with MORE people leaving than moving in. __________________ )uni*r

I work in a psych hospital. If they close Hagedorn it will turn my unit into a geriatric dumping zone. There are not many long term care facilities left. This is nonsense. __________________ My son says "Dad! You hunt deer for deer sausage, right?" And don't even mention Ancora, how many more people had to mysteriously die before that slaughterhouse got shut down. Slaughterhouse??? I think you have your institutions confused. Ancora doesn't have an issue with lots of people dying. The problem with paitents at Ancora is they were killing to get in there. I read alot of the Governor's Transition team reports, and they did mention closing a few institutions and Ancora seemed to be one target. But what community will be accepting these patients into group homes on thier streets? As far as cutting back, I would hope he completely eliminates the emergency roadside service and sells all those trucks we have running around. Getting rid of all that equipment and workers would save some bucks. Sure it's a nice service but when the state is broke can we really afford to subsidize a AAA service for everyone on the taxpayers dime? I think not. There are lots of services like that we can and should eliminate. When the state had the money it was nice to have all these extra services, but we don't have the money and can't afford these services. We should also drop the other benefits people receive for doing nothing by as much as 50 percent. Cut welfare, cut the unemployment money, get rid of the free needle program, etc. I know a few people on unemployment that will not go get a job because unemployment pays them more. What is wrong with that picture?
Every time I go into Home Depot or Lowes I see signs they are hiring. Saw signs at several Wawa's asking for help, Burger King in Browns Mills had a "we are hiring" sign up, Dicks is advertising in the Fish and Wildlife Digest for workers and if you check the website, they are hiring EVERYWHERE. People do not want to take these jobs because they are getting more from the Government for free...we are paying them to stay home instead of getting a job and being a productive citizen. Cut the unemployment benefit in half and you solve some budget problems and may motivate people to get back to work. I've been looking for jobs lately...there are ALOT of them out there, you just may have to change fields or take a pay cut. Many people are too spoiled to do that. |

34 billion has to come from somewhere. The pension BS is coming home to roost. Hope they enjoy the 7% increase Corzine negotiated this year while the real world has already cut payroll, benefits, and employees over the last several years. Try and find a pension in the real world, it no longer exists. 401K's are starting to disappear too. We need cheaper energy to make us more competitive but no we can't look at that rig in the ocean
