I love how the state workers think they're owed life time employment. If they work hard and show up everyday why shouldn't they be "owed" a job? Quote:
Not only "owed" a lifetime of employment, but not working any too hard either while they're at it! So EVERY state employee is lazy is that what you're trying to say? All of our kids will pay the price schools are getting hammered. My two girls will be sitting in lecture halls at this rate. In my town classes have 27 kids now. Rumor is 22 more teachers will be getting cut. I can see cuts being made but its not being done correctlty. Some one said earlier they are cutting supplemental money or surplus no district has any surplus any more. __________________ I just want to Hunt...

what about all the people who do trades for a living. or the people who work in offices? Many a people have lost their job because of the current economic status. Why should people who work for the state not have to make sacrifices? yes it sucks, but at the rate it is going now, it can not be sustained. You say taxes are going to go up because aid to towns will be cut, well if nothing is done and this state continues on the path it already is on, the taxes will go up.
And throwing that bear remark out there like that was not warranted, just because you are pissed. |

I only wish I had a state job with a pension! I guess I will work until I die because I can’t save enough currently based on what I make a yr.
This country sucks! 1. We fight other peoples wars & they hate us! 2. We gave away all or the majority of our manufacturing jobs - What did you use today that was made in the USA? Think about it 3. We outsource jobs Americans can easily do 4. Stock Companies only care about profits, if they can save money and show a profit they will. Hence why everything is made elsewhere 5. Gas prices suck 6. Avg family needs two paychecks to try and survive, I don’t know how people do it with kids 7. Everyone things their owed something 8. You can’t even yell at your own kids without someone getting involved in your business. My dad used to beat my ass and I deserved it! 9. taxes are $6,500 on a townhouse in a shit school system / area and I dont even have any kids. I think looking back to the 1950's times were so much easier for my parents. Out of high school you could find a local job, buy a house and raise a family on a basic no brainer type job with a single source of income. Now everyone needs and IPod and 10 pairs of shoes, etc and is in debt. I can’t wait until I am out of debt and just save and pay cash for most items. My goal just to survive is to have just the essentials and one or two toys / hobby’s. Keep it simple... I remember if you had a 19inch TV you were ahead of the game and very happy. Now everyone has 2-3 plus TV’s and always buying the latest and greatest. Now I am very depressed! __________________ Mr. Geek

Quote: Actually, its a $6.7 Billion tunnel. Federal Transit and Port Authority NYNJ are each putting up $3 billion. The project just receieved a few hundred million in federal Stimulus money, since they are starting the job early. The two tunnels they use now are a hundred years old.
THIS IS BECAUSE NJ TRANSIT IS BUILDING A 600m$$ TUNNEL TO SAVE 15MINS TO NYC.SOMEONE IS GETTING RICH OF THIS DEAL.. I understand what you are saying though ..... spending money on improvements during such bad economic times. But, its been years in planning and the financing is in place. __________________ DU, USSA

Look what happened when the DMV went private. Wait times went down, efficiency went up and it became a pleasurable experience to go to the DMV (rather than a nightmare experience). Yeah, we also can renew our license and registration via the internet instead of waiting in lines. Inspections now are once in 5 years (I think) for new cars, every two years after, instead of every year. Alot of the efficiencies are because of technology, not because of management. The DMV has been privatized for a long time and people just didn't know it. They were private when they sucked also.

I heard an interesting statistic the other day, 43% of Americans have less than $10,000 in retirement savings. Only 10% have more than $250,000. If this doesn't scare you nothing will. The number one reason is "can't afford to save". If you think we are hurting now, wait 15-25 years from now when all these people want to retire and only have SS. There will never be enough jobs for anyone. The future does not look good, I don't care if you are a Republican, Democrat, Tea Party, or anything in between. When more than 50% Americans cannot support themselves, something radically different is going to sweep over this country and it won't be good.

Why is this an interesting statistic? A larger percentage than that aren't even paying taxes. Every day more and more people are living off the govt tit. Why do you think more and more young people don't care about education? Because uncle Sam wil be there with the hand outs for your whole life as long as you keep voting for the libtards. |

i thought this was a hunting web. site It is, it's open season on state workers and politicians. Quote: plus lifelong benefits and let's not forget how many days per year they work. Quote: And you are really brave to threaten a 62 year old man with a heart condition via PM. AGAIN,I didn't threaten you,I just said lets meet up,figured we could have a beer or something and see if we can't come to a way of shutting your wiseass mouth up. Quote: You are a psycotic union thug who should be banned from this site a third time. Even if that were true,at least I don't talk shit about people's dead parents This is not a threat? It is directly quoted from the PM: Quote:
Anytime you have the balls to meet you just lt me know..Ok Pussy? Now let's clear up the so called "talking shit about dead parents." First of all this happend about 5 years ago when Jusbanmenow was Dbuck. He was banned as Dbuck, then came back as Timbuck2 and was also banned now he is Justbanmenow. Dbuck put op a thread indicating he was happy and supportive of Hillary Clinton announcing she was going to run for president. I don't recall all the posts because it was a long thread but the part about his parents went something like this: Dbuck: "I always vote straight Democrat" 230: "Anybody that does that is a moron Republicain or Democrat" Dbuck: "Both my parents voted straight Democrat all the time are you calling them morons?" 230: "If the shoe fits wear it." Then Dbuck ranted about disrespecting his dead parents and launched a barrage of threats of physical violence in PM's and open posts. That is why I refer to him as a psycotic union thug. He is probably just waiting for his buddy Obama to get card check through so he can be one of the thugs that will try to intimidate people into voting union. __________________ Gun control is being able to hit your target

230grain - why don't you just meet up with Dbuck and have a beer with him? You'll probably see that he's not a psychotic maniac, but just a normal working guy like everyone else who has a different political viewpoint than you do ![]() __________________ Camp Gaba-deer Pro Staff

Oh is that how it went? Post the thread.Because I don't vote straight Democrat. I voted for Reagan, absolutely did not vote for either of the Bushes. Guess what, didn't vote for Obama either. I wish I had the PMs that you sent me telling me how I was garbage and a piece of shit like my parents were. Believe me I wouldn't take "if the shoe fits wear it" comment that bad.
Obama's my buddy.. Now that's funny, you obviously don't know me If I remember correctly you used to be union, even stated that you used to go to work drunk all the time. Are you still an alcoholic lush? __________________ Some people's heroes wear capes. My heroes wear combat boots

Morgan Stanley took 35 billion in Federal bailout money. They have paid back 10%, yet they gave their executives a share of a 14.6 million dollar bonus and started to build a new casino in AC. Now they are short money to finish it and are asking the Gov. for 350 mil to finish it. This is stealing from the public worse than any public worker who makes $30,000 a year could ever do. Yet 101.5 or any other station will not give it even a 1/2 hour of coverage.
It's not only the public sector to blame for this mess, it is private big wigs too and the polititians that have allowed and enabled this to go on for years. ![]() __________________ Mathews Z7

| Come to my town and become rich, salaries of most teachers are $100k plus, they as well were just rewarded a 7% pay increase by the board of education, meanwhile people in town are having difficulties paying their bills. We have the highest paid teachers in Bergen county and if you think thats bad the DPW garbage truck driver is getting paid 95k and he doesn't even get out of the truck. | ||

What about the Phd in the same building with 1 year teaching making 48000? Some people choose to teach and up until the private sector became an economic horror show teachers would be called noble! (Noble was another way of some overpaid person saying they wouldn't do it for the same money). Now that its all gone to hell and people who were grossly overpaid for their services are losing some money, a lot of money or their job entirely - WE teachers are no longer 'noble' but rather overpaid overindulged babies with too much job security??? We teachers have funded our pensions with the state not holding up its part of the deal - from Whitman up until Corzine the state not only did not pay its part of the pension contributions but borrowed the monies and spent it elsewhere on bond interest etc... But I know misery loves company so now we once 'noble' teachers should feel the wrath. Here's a thought, when all these people were getting 100k + a year and not saving anything (and teachers were making an average of 28k maybe) maybe you should have thought more about individual future and forget the McMansion, Plasma TV lifestyle and squirreled some away just in case.
