I had a camera setup over there and had a couple yotes on it. I live in Herbertsville so just went down the street to try out the new caller and got lucky.

ok yeah i live in wall i saw a yote there once but never tried there i just got in to this predator hunting it's real fun. i had a question how did you see that gray from 60 yards away. Nature light in the field? I didn't see mine till it was right on top of my caller wich was only 15 yards away

I pan for eyes with a hand held spot light. Once I see eyes I switch over to the light on the gun which is brighter. I use a decoy and put the caller away from me and setup so they have to move out into the open to get down wind

now if you see eyes at 100 yard you turn it off and they still will come in closer?

the red light doesn't bother them for some reason I keep the light on him once I see the reflections from its eyes. When i get ready to shoot I change to the gun light which is red also to free up my hand to hold the gun. If hunting with someone, one guy on the light, one guy on the gun ready to shoot. I use shooting sticks when i hunt to keep the gun up and ready

I would have done some more sets but the fox crapped all over himself and I got it all over me so figured I might as well go home and clean up everything for tomorrows hunt.

Ken, congrats on the gray.  you should have kept hunting, sound like you had the perfect cover scent.

You sure take some pretty greys, congrats on another one.

Quote:
Greys are about 2/3rds the size of reds and have more catlike features
They can also climb trees, something reds can't do.
