Yellow Tail Wine Gives Money to HSUS
Sportsmen Urged to Voice Protest

The Australian maker of  Yellow Tail Wine has pledged $100,000 to the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s largest anti-hunting organization. This partnership offers further proof of HSUS’ work to spin its animal rights message in a way as to seem mainstream.

As HSUS states on its website:

“… the HSUS has paired with [yellow tail] for the "tails for tails" program. Through the end of March, you'll see special [yellow tail] displays bearing The HSUS name and logo in stores across the country.

Through "tails for tails," [yellow tail] is donating $100,000 to support us and our programs to help animals, including our Spay Day Online Pet Photo Contest.”

Alerted to this relationship, the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance (USSA) immediately contacted the American distributor of the wine, W.J. Deutsch and Sons Ltd., and urged them to ask Yellow Tail to sever its relationship with HSUS.

A copy of the letter the USSA sent to management can be found by clicking here.  Thus far, the USSA has not heard from W.J. Deutsch regarding our request.

“This wine maker has fallen into the same trap as other companies who donate money to HSUS,” said Bud Pidgeon, president of the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance.  “They believe they are helping animals in shelters when in fact they are funding an agenda from an animal rights group that is largely divergent from the vast majority of Americans.”

Take Action!  Sportsmen should contact W.J. Deutsch and Sons Ltd. and inform them that they disapprove of Yellow Tail Wine’s relationship with the HSUS.  It is important that W.J. Deutsch and Sons Ltd understand that each dollar given to HSUS is another dollar that can be used to attack hunting, fishing and trapping rights.  Further, tell them that sportsmen will be forced to select alternative brands if the relationship with HSUS is not severed.

W.J. Deutsch and Sons Ltd. can be contacted at:

108 Corporate Park Drive
White Plains, NY 10604
Tel: 914-251-9463
Email: info@wjdeutsch.com

Ask to speak to Bill Deutsch, W.J. Deutsch’s chairman or Peter Deutsch, the company’s chief executive officer.

HSUS is perhaps the most dispicable of all the animal rights wacko groups. They run those commercials on TV and have those donation cups in stores that show imiges of mistreated domestic animals mostly dogs then use the money to push their anti hunting agenda.

No it doesn't. For the price, it's actually a good value. I like the Shiraz, but I wont buy it anymore!

Remember to threaten to not buy WJ Deutsch's other brands because that will add to the pressure on them to speak with Yellow Tail.  I just sent this letter:

To Whom It May Concern:

I recently learned that one of the wine makers that you represent in the United States, Yellow Tail out of Australia, has given a rather large donation to the Humane Society of the U.S. (HSUS).  The HSUS is a blanket organization that fights against legal hunting and fishing throughout the US.  They do not do nearly what they claim that they do which is helping stranded animals in shelters.  Instead, they pursue a radical anti-hunting and fishing agenda.

I urge you to ask your supplier to reconsider this donation or to halt further donations.  In the meantime, you have lost a Yellow Tail customer and I will review the other brands on your website and make certain that I do not purchase them as well until Yellow Tail understands that their activities to support an organization bent on destroying two great American traditions is not in their best business interests.  I will also be in direct contact with Yellow Tail regarding this matter.

Sincerely,

I used to drink a lot of Yellowtail Shiraz.  I will no longer be buying that brand for my wife. The reason why the quality of Yellowtail varies so much is that they do what is known as sourcing grapes.  Because they have such a large international market for wine they source their grapes.  Basically they buy fruit from other winemakers that are having trouble selling their wine or don't sell international and have surplus.  This is also done in california and makes for a really inconsistant wine.  Yellowtail is definitely on my naughty list now.

Correct.  But there is great value in putting pressure on their US distributor in addition to Yellow Tail themselves.

Its like supporting Terrorism here at home. Screw them and their wine. I sent them an email.

The FBI ranks ELF and ALF as the #1 Domestic Terrorist Threats and the ties between the Environmental Liberation Front, Animal Liberation Front, and Animal "Rights" groups such as HSUS and PeTA are indisputable.

Not as overtly radical, PeTA and HSUS lead the list in connectivity with such terror groups.  Seeking to destroy the American way of life, AR groups have won court rulings against freedom of choice, freedom from unfair taxation, the right to privacy, and freedom from unreasonable search and seizure.  This ongoing collection of information will assist you in understanding the seriousness of the threat and the connections between such radical groups.

FOXNews.com - FBI: Eco-Terrorism Remains No. 1 Domestic Terror ... March 31, 2008 In testimony before committee "It remains ... the No. 1 domestic terrorism threat, because they have successfully continued to conduct different types of attacks in and around the country," FBI Special Agent Richard Kolko.

Testimony of FBI Domestic Terrorism Section Chief  Feb 12, 2002 - Counterterrorism Division, Before the House Resources Committee, "During the past several years, special interest extremism, as characterized by the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) and the Earth Liberation Front (ELF), has emerged as a serious terrorist threat... The FBI estimates that the ALF/ELF have committed more than 600 criminal acts in the United States since 1996, resulting in damages in excess of 43 million dollars."

HSUS employed many from the radical animal rights and terrorist organizations, including  John “J.P.” Goodwin, a former Animal Liberation Front spokesman with a lengthy arrest record and a history of promoting arson to accomplish "animal liberation" at horrific cost to humans.
