If I have a gun the first thing out of my mouth as I roll down the window will be I am on my way home from hunting and there is an unloaded shotgun in that case back there. Not a good thing to do. i still would be honest. the officers are asking for their safety as well as others. ive been stopped several times and most of the time we started talking hunting they told me to have a nice day and good luck. they only ran my numbers once, and that was in veterans park in the 70s before they made it into a park. i was 14 and smallgaming. the cops saw me shoot a rabbit and decided to check me. i was honest and respectful and i had no problems. i used to walk from behind grice down kuser rd to uncle petes rd with my shotgun in a case when i was 14. if they stopped me i told them i was going rabbit hunting at my uncles farm. they never hasseled me and sometimes even gave me a lift just to give me hunting pointers. __________________ There's room for all gods creatures right next to the mashed potatoes! lobomike62@yahoo.com

Whenever i'm getting pulled over its because i'm doing something i shouldn't be and got caught. The last time i was pulled over with a weapon in the car i turned the dome light on shut off the car and sat there with my hands on the wheel. When asked for my lic reg and ins, i informed him of what i needed to do to attain said documents and asked if it would be ok. As i'm handing him the documents i said officer i'd like to let you know i have a cased unloaded whatever where ever. At this point in time, the officer knows a couple things. I'm being respectful, i'm going out of my way to make him feel comfortable and safe. I fully agree that i don't have to inform them but i choose to because i have nothing to hide and i did nothing wrong. I'm a legal firearm owner. All my firearms are 100% legal. The officer i'm dealing with has a tough job and because he's well trained knows there are no typical or standard vehicle stops. Anything can come at them but this guy here is being 100% up front, polite and respectful and going out of his way to do this. And i don't get tickets. __________________ Fat Cat Sportfishing

Only one time did I get a hassle from a trooper, and he was the third one on the scene. A corporal. A couple of years ago, the first day of crow season. I had some early morning shooting, and was heading home. I was on private property, and when I came out the trail in my truck, a trooper pulled in front of me blocking my exit. He approached the truck and asked one of the dumbest questions I heard in a while. "Are you coming out of there?" Nope, I am backing in, is what I wanted to say. But I said YES, he asked if I heard shooting, YEP, I was shooting back there, its first day of crow season. He checked my drivers license, registration, and insurance papers. We talked awhile, and another trooper came flying in. He jumped out, the first troop told him everything was cool. A minute later Corporal Barney Fife came in sideways, lights flashing. The first two troops told him what was going on, and then he started his shit. Where is your gun, its in the front seat of the truck in the gun case. Where is your Ammo, its in my hunting vest behind the seat of the truck. He then started telling me that I was in violation of the law, the gun and ammo are supposed to be in two seperate compartments. I explained the case is a compartment in itself, so that puts everything in two different compartments. Then he demanded to see my fid card, I told him I had one, but since I was not purchasing a firearm at that time, I wasn't required to show, the hunting license on my vest allowed me to possess the firearm. That pissed him off, he went back to his car and got on the phone with someone, made me sit an extra 20 minutes, then said, You can go. I think I hurt his feelings when I asked the other two troops, what Corporal Fife wanted when he was walking away, and he overheard it, but screw him. __________________ 1/20/09 THE BEGINNING OF AN ERROR!!

i got pulled over in penning with my shotgun in the jeep. The officer walked up to the car saw that i was in full camo with a orange hat on and orange vest in the passenger seat. He said you going Hunting. I said yea. He was very nice and polite. He said where is the gun. I told him in the back seat in a gun sock. He looked threw the back window and said not problem. The kicker was i forgot my license my car was over due for inspection and and i was speeding i got three tickets. 2 of them were erased and i only had to pay for the speeding ticket. NO hassle with the gun or anything. __________________ FIRE IT UP!!!!!
