NJ Hunter / New Jersey Deer, Bear & Turkey Hunting / Deer Action / Deer Zone 14 / my first deer, in 6 mile run of all places! (pix)
Posted:  03 Nov 2009 5:55 PM
On October 19 I was set up in my bush and around 6:30 I heard a noise and got ready to draw. I saw the outline of a large deer coming down my line ad drew as he came around my bush. I got an amazing 5 yard shot at this deer and I found out the next morning I had a pass through shot. My dad and I tracked him (which is not easy in 6 mile) and this deer changed direction several times. But after one full puddle of blood.. nothing. After an hour of looking in circles, I thought maybe he turned 180 and went back over his own trail. Sure enough, I found a 2nd trail into the thick stuff. 30ft in we found this massive bodied deer! Wide nine that dressed at 190lbs.. He had multiple broad head scars from grazed shots. Anyone remember this deer? This was the first year I hunted this area of 6 mile and I had no idea the place held deer this nice! I'm 17 and this is my first deer.

Actually I just modified some bushes and trees along a trail. I figured since they see that every day they wouldn't get suspicious.
