I posted this information because this is about the best charity an outdoorsmen can contribute to: Why???
Because it puts hunters in a favorable light! It's shows our compassion for people. We are providing a valuable public service one by removing the surplus deer from the herd thereby minimizing deer/car collisions, crop damage, ornamental damage, overbrowsing of our forest land and the spread of Lyme disease. Donationg venison to the homeless is yet another public service by providing nutritious protein meals to our most needy citizens.

HHH provides a place for hunters who have to shoot deer for a variety of reasons a place to donate them where it won't go to waste. Some hunters can only use 3-5 deer a year for themselves and still have to shoot more deer because the farmer who's land they're hunting wants more does shot for example. HHH provides them with a place to drop off their deer where it will go to feed someone in desperate need.

I have to say I've been to some of these places to drop off meat and I see some of the people that society have left behind, some of them aren't there because of their own choosing, like the children! No child is born and wants to be hungry and homeless! This is where we as sportsmen make a differnce!

I have to say one thing about Jack Chellew, our Warren County Representative, he's on the board of Directors and he's single-handedly is trying to keep this organization afloat. Jack has the biggest heart of anyone I've ever met and you can see the joy in his face, when he tell me how many meals he provided to this homeless shelter or that food bank. He's one of the few men I've met in my life that will probably use the E-Z Pass gate when he gets to heaven!

UBNJ is committed to the success of this program because it helps hunters and it feeds people. Marc Weiss our Essex County Representative, provided 4000 lbs of meat to a homeless shelter in Paterson, NJ.

So you can help these men by helping yourselves, sign up and go fluking, let's make this a profitable trip for all the hardwork Jack Chellew has done!

Maybe if it's successful they'll do another. Most charter trips are booked this time of year. I've been aboard the Eagle many times. Run by Captain Art Hilliard, the trips are usually guided by Captain Robbie, who is one of the most experience fihing boat captains on the Raritan/Sandy Hook Bays. If there's fish he'll find them. Looking forward to this I hope we have a lot of interested parties!
