How come 1000 posts is the criteria for being a part of the testing?

Sounds like a good idea.

I'm not sure the 1000 post deal is the best as some people are equally dedicated to our hobbies but may not post as much, but I agree its may be easier in terms of an availability/reliability in respect to following up on the forums and keeping progress in the "project"

May I add something? The committee should be made up of different groups of people . Example I waterfowl hunt (to much) others here go once a year. poor tester for duck calls. Other side i don't deer hunt anymore. I'm a poor tester for deer hunting equip.. See what i mean?

Testers need to have some sort of resume.
Add me to your list here's the areas I know:
Waterfowl (35 yrs)
dog breeder (25 yrs)
competition coon hunter 9 (30yrs)
trapper (35yrs)
Don't fish enough to test equip.. no longer hunt deer

The post thing doesn’t really constitute experience and hunting knowledge I think you should have minimum of at least 20 years in the field. Archery, shotgun, and muzzle loader experience also small game, Deer, water foul, and turkey hunting experience as well to make it into the committee. Not just a lot of post or time on the site. Just a thought I think experience and hunting knowledge should be the maiger factor.

it's not really how long someone has been doing it, it's how often they do it. Once every few weeks or mornings only in Sept.doesn't give a fair test.

These test that come from people that may not have 20 years or hunts every day will be good. You may ask "How is that Mystic".. Well I'll tell you, These test would be coming from the everyday hunter, the one that gets out only on Saturdays, the one that this might be their first time out.... I've been hunting for 20plus years in different States that doesn't mean I wouldn't want to hear a test/evaluation from (say) Mack on a broadhead that he likes and feels is a greatly made BH..

Sean, is doing this committe and He has the right idea... 500 post or more... the reason for that is the ones with that much post is putting alot of time on here to help others... If You don't like His rule on it..don't read them and don't bitch and the tests.

Great Idea about the committe...

1000 posts or more???  That means they are sitting on the computer all day instead of in the woods

Why would you not look to see if there are any experts / pros in the area of equipment you would like to test? The amount of posts does not necessarily mean that the poster is the correct person to evaluate the product.

I would like to help out here and I want to start by recomending we begin with "Testing" differant archry targets and their effectivness with differant bows from old standards like recurves longbows the old round wheel compounds the latest and greatist compounds and now what will be typical for the crossbows we will all be using soon!
We can even put our findings on u tube or the like as I understand some other groups are starting to do that now.
