Honestly I highly doubt it dose seems more like a coincident then actually a deer traveling that quickly into the area because of it more then likely the deer were in the area and actually checking out the noise not the smell I've killed several deer while climbing up a tree over the years Bucks and Does and it had nothing to do with scents

All seasons, it's a fact of life, and one that I personally don't see anybody should be embarrased about or uncomfortable discussing.  Most of you have wives and/or girlfriends, and get yourselves elbow deep while gutting a deer, stomach, intestines, bowels, bladder, so what's the big deal talking about a little 3" item that seems to be attracting bucks for me? And I know you were laughing with the TMI comment, so am I

Nope you got me read wrong, The females in my family are anything but shy and neither am I. Still dont know how much I want to come onto this site and read about your cycle, but if this works go for it. I showed the post to my mom and sister and they thought it was funny.

write all you want about your cycle, all i know about it is it fills up my waste basket at home "my wife" and drives me crazy!

Oh I hate when that happens. once I laid what i thought a beautifull scent drag to my tree. Started to climd and as i was pulling my curve up i spoted the beast looking at me. i tried to ever so slightly pull the bow up and get a rrow knowed as i was staraped to the tree and half way up. I almost pulled of a shot but as I knocked the arrow he hears it and bolts. 10 minutes I needed to get set I would have been in the tree and getting an arrow off in him maybe.

Thats what makes it fun Robin now you educated him so hope he forgets and comes into you. Be carefull if you get my drift they been know to chase women at certain times in the rut.

Heres what I would do if I were a woman hunter? Walk the trails in the woods grunting all the time and when he comes on you and gives you the breeding eye turn sideways and arrow your love in the heart. He should be close enough to you then to stick him good.

Get out of the woods before dark though. Be carefull of the coyottes also both 4 legged and 2 legged.

Paul, I do have, and have tried both Rickard's Bucks Gone Wild (Spray), as well as, James Valley Scents Full Rut Doe In Heat Gland Lure (Gel).  When I saw that big buck today, after I got my bow up and an arrow knocked, I doe bleated and spritzed in the air with the Bucks Gone Wild, but the buck had already seen me and didn't come back.  Seriously, I am trying just about anything and everything, and there isn't anybody out there holding my hand and leading me through it, but that's how I am, independent, so this whole bow hunting is a learn as you go process for me, and the fact that I am seeing bucks thrills me, now if I actually get to shoot one, geez, I think I will have thought I died and went to heaven already.

Hey guys, I do have another question.  As I was leaving the woods, I noticed noise, brush noise to my left, maybe 30-40 yards.  It was dark, so I shined the flashlight in that direction and I got eyes . . . lower than a deer, higher than a raccoon, and they reflected BLUE from the flashlight.  Whatever it was, was watching me, because after about 20 or 30 feet of walking, I once again turned and shined the flasglight again, and whatever it was, was pretty much in the same place, but still watching me.  I wasn't afraid, just a little more cautious than usual, moving closer to the cornfield, thinking that it would be easier to run through the corn if I needed to rather than try to run through the woods.  Any ideas what animal reflects BLUE when you shine a flashlight in their eyes in the dark?

Yep what did I tell you about the yote? Dogs follow women so why wouldn't a yote or even a bear?
Posted:  04 Nov 2008 11:28 PM
It wasn't following me Glenn, just watching me as I was leaving, and there's lots of scatt in the Washington Swamp, but I have yet to actually see a bear back there.

Keep at em Grit.  Your gonna get a buck yet this season.  Just think how much you've learned this year.  I think a lot can be learned from you posts.  I would try getting in a little earlier maybe.  Or maybe don't break out the "item" until you are already up in the tree and lower it with some fishing line.

maybe it wasn't an animal, maybe it was a pair of blue bright eyes (reflectors). That could be why it was stationary, and as you said not following you.

Hope you get a monster buck.
