I did not think of taking a picture but while fluke fishing yesterday the water was glass clear, I was in about 65 feet of water off the lumps outside shark river. I could see these silver fish with Black lines going down there sides from top to bottom they were in small schools, looked like a freshwater yellow perch but silver with black lines and no scales they had skin like a tuna or mackrel. They were about 8 to 12 inches some a little larger.

I took out a small silver spoon and tossed it to them and they attacked it I pulled up a couple and sliced them for Fluke bait the flesh was a nice pink color. I should have taken a picture but did not think of it. Does anyone know what kind of fish this is and if they are good to eat? The meat had a nice color to it I think if I see them again I may catch some for the table.

Some guys from Njfishing.com figured it out, it is a Banded rudder jack. Has anyone ever eaten one of these are they edible?
