| I'm with the Olde Barn Gun Club and we have some openings. We currently have (5) properties that the club leases (most under Farmland Preservation) and hunt both birds and deer. The slots vary from bird-only to deer-only to a full membership which includes both. The initiation fee is very reasonable. We have a new president and he is doing a fantastic job. A couple of NJH members are also members of our gun club and another one recently signed up to deer hunt our Long Valley piece. | ||

Initiation fees are $25.00 for Deer-only memberships and $50.00 for a full membership.
Membership fees are $825.00 for bird and $450.00 for deer. Although the Long Valley piece is $500.00 for deer and Alpha which is bird only and is suppose to be a beautiful piece with plenty of birds goes for $1,250. |

I was in that club once. I bet half of this site has been a member one time or another. When I was in deer only it was $260. Al really destroyed that club. He had no limits on members. As long as you had cash you can join. No limit to club and it was only LV back then. __________________ Soccer-Mom Pro-Staffer

Broadhead, what part of OBGC are you in? I'm in Alpha.
Also, just for the record, Steve has been running the club for as long as i have been a member, and he does a great job running it. This will be my 3rd year in the club, and my first year we were able to deer hunt Long Valley. And i must say, that place is loaded with deer! I'm still upset that we can't deer hunt it anymore, but what can you do! |

Hey Woj, I've been with them since Jan. '01 and it was $350.00 back then. Steve Dhein has been running the club (along with 2 others) for a couple of years now and he's been doing a fantastic job. He's a real standup type of guy. One of the first things he did was to not renew the membership of a couple of guys at our property which pretty much everyone else at the club did not agree with their style of hunting. Limits on memberships do exist and I have the updated number of availabilty. In fact, in 2 of the 5 pieces only one slot is open. The club fits my style of hunting or at least the amount of time I can devote to hunting so I'm a happy hunter.
Ringneck: I've at the Cherryville property since the beginning. I hunted both bird and deer for the first two full years and have cut back to deer only since I took up bow hunting. |

I grew up in Three Bridges. Moved to Monmouth when I was 12. Shot my first deer near Burjans. __________________ Sponsored by:

Alpha has a 25 member limit and is now filled for this year.
Long Valley had I believe 2 spots open for birds earlier this week. One AM and one PM. I believe the one AM was filled later in the week. __________________ "A bad day of hunting is better than a good day of work"

I heard all of the clubs are filled with the possible exception of Long Valley in the PM. __________________ "A bad day of hunting is better than a good day of work"
