I have an unrepairable major tear of the Rotator Cuff in my right bow arm. I cannot hold up a bow for too long, what's it weigh 6 pounds. Yet, through rehabilitation and working out 3 days a week, I am comfortably shooting a 45# bowtech. Last year I made 3 complete pass throughs with a 40# bow. I work hard to shoot a bow, can I get a crossbow yep, but I don't want one. I'm not THAT lazy. There are legitimate people who have handicaps that the ONLY way they could hunt is with a crossbow. I honor their commitment to hunting, true sportsmen who love to hunt and by any means possible, an able bodied man with a crossbow there's no honor in that! I know of a guy who lost a leg, yet climb mountains in search of Elk with a longbow! That's a courageous person, an abled bodied man shooting a crossbow should be ashamed of himself.

Its disgraceful to say anyone that shoots a crossbow should be ashamed of themselves. Maybe your too Lazy to understand that you need to support all hunting instead of blowing your own horn about your remarkable recovery from an injury like your the only person ever injured. Boo Hoo

This post is the example of why the antis are beating Us.

they come together, and we fight over things that don't matter.  I think the crossbows should be allowed but I am not going to use one, and if the guy in the next tree is using one I don't care.

I hate to say it but money is the driving force in this state. that is why we do not have a salt water lic because the pa and out of state boys bring in alot of money to the econ along our coastal and bay fronts.

Adding crossbows will not be any neg on us< but add archery hunters, which adds funds and equipment sales which will cause the pol to think about the inpact that no hunting will cause. if you want to shoot prim then shoot prim or what ever.

How come everyone who supports the crossbow issue as outlined in the proposed game code ignors this simple extra addition to the game code and thats Reg.Set 9 ? You know the regulation set that acording to its auther will be put in place to extend the permit shotgun season further into November "for when bowhunters begin to take more bucks and not enough does in the bowseasons"?
When anyone says the way NJ is implementing crossbow inclusion will in the end cost us our bow seasons they get bashed but it is there for all to see that the mechanism to do just that is being put in place right along with the crossbows.

First off I know Jack very well. He was not putting down anyone who really needs to use a crossbow. He was just stating that he was able to come back from an injury to continue to use a conventioanl bow and that some people out there run to the x bow becuase it is teh easy thing to do.
If you do not know the man do not judge him. Jack has spent more time defending all forms of hunting than anyone else on here. He stood up for the. bear hunt 110% even though it was a gun only hunt and he has supprted the F&W and Council in all their endeavors whether it was popular or not. To say the things you have about him is totally wrong and shows you do not know who you speak of.
Lastly why is it becuase bowhunters are concerned about conservation are we getting bashed? If anyone challenges the "tradition" of the 6 day firearm season the federation comes out in force to make sure it is not messed with and no one says a word, but because bowhunters want to keep some of the bowseason conventional bow only and are worried about a possible overharvest of bucks becuase of this new weapon in the bow season, we are selfish? That is just wrong and shows how selfish and narrow minded the people making these statements are.
Thunderbolt has done more for all of the sportsmen and women in this state than anyone can imagine. I am very proud to call him my friend and will defend him however need be.
