Great rifle. Perfect for "up close and personal" with big game. I have the 1895. The 1895GS is definitely a fast handling rifle.__________________ "I have long taught that if you can't do it with a 30-06, you probably can't do it."

I have the 1895G in Blue, rather than stainless. I absolutely love the thing and it's my go-to rifle for deer in heavy woods. I added a scout scope mount (thanks Paul W. ) for really fast target acquisition and I have been shooting the Hornady LeverEvolution ammo, which about doubles the effective range. You really need to evaluate it relative to your shooting needs and likely hunting terrain.__________________ Capitalist - Pro Staffer

It looks like a great gun. I'd probably go for the blued version. Just a personal preference. I like the caliber and it looks like a quick handling rifle. __________________ You sleep safe in your beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do you harm.
