I saw a Browning Lightning III adjustable bipod the other day. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them? How do they compare to others? (Harris etc.) I don't wnat to spend @80 bucks on junk. __________________ You sleep safe in your beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do you harm.

Bipods, shooting sticks, kneeling, prone, in fact most everything about shooting and hunting comes down to personal preference.
If you are referring to bipods for rifles I don't like them. If I can't use my backpack which is the best rest you can get, I will use steady sticks. I've used shooting sticks for the last 10 years while rifle hunting. I've tried bipods and just don't like them. I find them wobbly and don't like carrying them around on my rifle all day. If you do a hunt where you are riding horses your rifle won't fit into the scabbards. The sticks give you a little more height than the bipods and I feel you get a steadier rest from them. My opinion. Whether you choose a bipod or shooting sticks make sure you practice shooting your rifle with them before your hunt. Nothing can take the place of practice! Good Luck |

I'm just trying to figure out what I want to do with my new varmint gun. For coyotes I'm thinking of maybe a bipod mount instead of sticks. I'm just fishing for info. __________________ You sleep safe in your beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do you harm.

I use a bipod on a Ruger #1 in 22-250 for woodchucks.
It works great, but I don't carry it around much. I set-up on a small hill and glass for "pigs". A tip if you go with the bipod. Have the legs vertical as possible for the shot, steep angles will push your shot high or low... |

I like and use the Caldwell. Small and quiet. No springs like the Harris. I have not seen the Browning. __________________ ´¯`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸ ><((((((º>
