Make some friends, Do some leg work and knock on doors. By the way welcome to the site and thanks for introducing yourself. I'd polish up on some ettiquette if you want clubs to welcome you.

thanks i apologize i was just in a rush before... by the way name is mike am an officer in north jersey...been hunting 4 yrs now on public lands but theres just to much pressuse and to many irresponsible hunters out there... tried the leg work but no good responses i appreciate the suggestion

state land is a large area.. north, central , south, east, west, all areas require scouting.. you can't just walk in alone and expect results...

there are many types of clubs,

you should research what type you are looking for, and make some visits.

some expensive, some less expensive, some gun only, some bow, stand, drive, range, trap, etc...

remember you have your own discipline.. that may work for you, may be more restrictive than the rules.. others may just follow the law or rules...

as long as your following the laws... we all need to act accordingly to our needs vs desires.. and area population..

I would suggest contacting Thompson land about leases and forming your own club.  That way you can select members that you know will be practicing the same restrictions that you do.

What areas of the state are you from and interested in hunting?

it takes a long time to figure out state land and the best way is to get out of the truck and pay your dues.  get off the beaten path there is plenty of state land that produces ,good luck costam07
