Im looking to start fletching my own arrows soon. Arizona E-Z Fletch Tool was recommneded to me. Not sure which one I should be looking at for my Carbon Express 350's. It says that one is used for "shoot through" arrow rests and one is for "shoot around arrow" rests. Im shooting a Ripcord rest. Can someone please tell me the difference between the two? Thanks. __________________ Back straps..It's whats for dinner.

The difference is the degree of offset the fletching will be glued at. 6 degree is a harder twist giving you a higher spinning rate in flight. Similar to helicals. I shoot straight or helical and never had much luck with the offset type. Bohning makes an affordable jig. __________________ "from my cold dead hands"

I user a Bitzenburger (sp?) jig. It has an adjustable angle and availble adapters for straight or helical fletching. It can fletch 3 or 4 feathers/vanes. I like it a lot and prefer making my own arrows from shafts. __________________ Tight Lines, Wet Nets, Filled Tags and Full Bags

Buy the BITZ....Ive had a bunch of different ones trough the years and the BITZ is hands down the ONLY acceptable jig. __________________ Amateur's practice till they get it right. Pro's practice till they can't get it wrong.

FullDraw,
The arizona E-Z Fletch is a good fletcher to start with. If you are someone who loves archery, go with a bitzenburger jig. Reason for this is the sky is the limit with what you can do with this jig. Three fletch, 4 fletch, as much or as little helix etc. the price is about double but you won't be disappointed. If you are set on buying the arazona jig go with the six degree offset you will get better flite with a wider selection of broadheads. Good Luck |
