my 2cents is if you are shooting 330 fps ,to me that means your arrow is on the lighter side. if i were you i would shoot the smallest size cutting diameter mechanical broad head you can find 1 1/8 rocket wolverine.  i us a 75 grain head with only about 300 fps second. remember just because your arrow is fast doesn't mean you have the energy to push threw a shoulder bone or even worse penitrate on bad downward angles.  i,ve seen that a million times so go to your proshop and ask the tech..

ps forget the entrance hole,,what go is it if you dont have a low exit hole??

And if THAT hole is in the guts or shoulder you still have an ugly mess, guilt ridden hunter and a suffering deer that you may never find
I agree that nothing is betterthan a well placed shot on a deer with a sharp broadhead no matter what you shoot. I was turned on to the rage 2 blades last year after watching a hunting show that showed the entry and exit holes. The guy on the show said --folks, we normally don't show the entry or exit wounds of the deer like this but I want to show you what these rage 2 blades do. I thought that deer must have been shot with a high powered rifle to have that kind of damage, entry and exit holes were huge. The guy said that he doesn't like bad hits but we all screw up once in a while and these broadheads are just a little added insurance that even with a bad hit you probably will find your deer. Last year I shot 4 deer. The first was a doe with the bow. I made a bad shot, she turned just as I released the arrow. I felt terrible as I strive to make quick clean kills and practice a lot. I knew it was a gut shot when I got down and saw the arrow and smelled that awful smell. To end my rambling she went about 50 yards and(sorry)-- had 'stuff' hanging out of both the entry and exit holes. I have never seen a hole in a deer like the one a rage makes and until you have used them or saw for yourself whaty they do you probably wouldn't believe it. If I had hit her like that with my old muzzy 3 blades I honestly don't think I would have ever found her. Like I said nothing is better than a well placed shot but we are not perfect all the time no matter who you are.

i would think the bigger the hole the better.no one said they make you aim better.

i shoot muzzy but i am not always happy with the blood trail thinking of changeing to  the rage after  seeing it perform today on the target.but i will wait to see exit hole on deer first want to make sure they hold up going thrugh (ribs /bone)

broadheads dont do the aiming for you ....your big head does that....i always aim for the vitals

If I have to use a mechanical broadhead it will have to be three blades. Think of how your arrow might hit. That one solid line(cut) if well hit in the heart or lungs and that line is completely in the vitals then you will have a dead deer. But, lay that line horizontally and hit just outside of the vitals and you have a mess just like he said. If you have three blades you have the other blade there to hit what might be missed by just two.

I shot a buck a few years ago with a NAP Shockwave thankfully I hit through the shoulder  bottom of the lung and heart he only ran 40 yards when I found the arrow the broadhead was still closed and the exit wound was just a nickel sized hole.

How do you back a rearward opening Blade out of a target  ? i know this is not an issue with the practice Rage head but what about a Grim Reaper style  ?

I have shot most of my bow killed deer with zwickey heads. no bleeder blades. Never had a problem.

NAP Shockwave

I bought these once, shot at a deer and had blades open and arrow went straight to the ground below the deer. Looked like a curve ball. I like NAP but this was a huge flop. Please don't judge mechanicals off of this piece of crap. I have used rocket sidwinders and spitfires and all deer shot have died within site, not tracking.

parker i still think you should take that bow down to the sportsmen center and let them paper tune it with you. then if you want to switch heads its up to you.
