Bob I know what the name implies. My question was I am curious to see how one deifines a backyard breeder. You mentioned B n B. Would you consider them a backyard breeder?
While NAVHDA is a great source to start one must still do their homework and research. What NAVHDA offers is a place where one can review and begin to understand a particuliar breeder and his pups. Generally those that have been breeding for some time will have proven records of how their dogs as well as other dogs in their breedings have tested. Keep in mind that this is only how they did while in a test situation! You want to try and get out and see the parents while in a hunting situation, there is a big difference. The true "NAVHDA GUYS" will be happy to showcase their dogs in the field, not only the dog or dogs that are being bred but the ancestry as well. Many of the breeders that are involved with NAVHDA will want a commitment from the puppy owners to participate and join a local chapter as well as to have their pups tested, at the very least in Natural Ability. __________________ |
