Im in the market for a handheld GPS device. Im looking at Garmins and Lowrance. (doesnt have to have the two-way radio function) Looking to mark stand sites and rub lines, and deer sign during this upcoming hunting season. Can someone give me some input on how they find theres to work out. Thanks. __________________ Back straps..It's whats for dinner.

| Just last week I bought a Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx. I have been using it in the yard and going around town. So far I really like it. It is easy to operate and accurate. The only downside is that it doesn't come with topo maps. Fortunatly a buddy had Garmin's topo map program and I was able to download all of NJ, most of PA, parts of CO and Kansas all onto the 64mb chip that came with the unit. | ||

Go with the Garmin GPSMAP 60CSX..
Do as WWP Bowhunter did or buy the topo cards for the whole region. I have the Garmin GPSMAP60C and love it...The 60CSX is a whole lot better unit ! You will find your best deals on E-Bay __________________ <- <- <- <- ~ <- <- <- <-

Go with the Garmin GPSMAP 60CSX.. My wife wanted to get me a GPS last year for Christmas to find my way to job estimates, I wanted one for hunting. Got the 60CSx and got the best of both worlds. ![]() __________________ The 4 seasons - Almost Summer, Summer, Still Summer and Hunting Season

| I would be carefull on eBay and make sure the seller is an authorized dealer if selling new. There have been alot of counterfit electronics out there. I bought mine on Amazon. It was the cheapest pluse free shipping. | ||

Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx I love mine. Use it in the car and in the woods. I'm planning on buying a 256 MB microSD card for it, as the one that comes with it is only 64 MB.
One gripe that I have with the 60CSx is that it doesn't float, so if you drop it in the water you'll probably get wet when you dive in to retrieve it ![]() __________________ Dog's on point... get ready!!!

| I too have been toying with buying one. So the recommended model can give the directions for driving, and I buy additional software for topo maps? Want one that I can find directions for driving, and one that I can walk in woods with and do the memory points. Thanks. | ||

can give the directions for driving http://www8.garmin.com/cartography/mapSource/citynavnt.jsp The 60CSx comes with main highways and roads loaded on it only, so I would recommend the city navigaor software if you want to use it as the GPS unit for your vehicle. __________________ Dog's on point... get ready!!!
