Out of curiosity, does anyone on here practice falconry? or has anyone been fortunate enough to know someone who does/did and accompanied them? __________________ Hunting isnt catch and release

| I was lucky to tag along with my cousin from Pennsylvannia when he was still alive. He had a Kestrel/Sparrow hawk, nothing big but the bird flew to him by the comand of whistles. He had made all jesses and leather hoods himself, it was pretty interesting to watch. | ||

I always wanted to watch someone do that. It looks really cool. __________________ You sleep safe in your beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do you harm.

I went to the Pequest open house a couple of years ago... and there were two guys there with their birds... and photos... inside the main building. They gave a brief presentation... and answered questions. ![]() __________________ |

| I was going to try it, I even had a sponsor lined up. It was very impressive watching a Red tail crash on a rabbit. The sport demands LOTS of time. Unfortunately, if you have a regular 9-5 job, its a little too demanding. Very fun though. | ||

My wife's Uncle is a master falconer, we have been up to his house when he has had red tail hawks in his yard. He is also on the list of people to contact in PA when injured birds are found..etc.
He recently purchased a really good video camera and has plans of taping birds..etc. |
