With a small gene pool such as the Braque Francais has, you don't have to go back too far for all of them to be related. That is what makes breeding them a challenge. I try to keep the breeding coefficients as low as possible. I like to see a 5 generation pedigree with no common dogs. Making close crosses could damage a breed like the BF in no time. I'm glad to see you noticed them bestnjbirddogs

In 100 years people might be talking about your line of Braque Francais like setter enthusiasts talk about DeCoverly, Ryman or Tekoa Mountain setters ![]() __________________ Dog's on point... get ready!!!

Quote: Jon I can't believe your talking about these pedigrees. Abby has a few of these in her and is a Ryman too and Tekoa and thats why she is so big because of the Ryman in her.
Ryman or Tekoa Mountain setters __________________ Don't forget Grouse Ridge either in her also.
Man I never realized what I real have. Thats why she is so natural I guess? Every since Stagg came in with his dogs I have been noticing them in the mags. and gave hime the web site to the woodcock man in Can. that was extreamly interesting. Beautifull dogs but I love Jerseys setter the most.
If you can't see the differance in these dogs and a GSP then you must me not looking close enough at them. I personally am a long hair dog man even though they are more work to groom and take care of to be classic I feel its worth it to me. |

So far we have been very proud our breeding program. A lot of health testing, a high expectation of performance in the grouse woods and a little luck has enabled us to put out almost 50 BF pups in the US and Canada and make some very happy bird dog. We take the responsibility of laying a strong foundation for the breed in the US very seriously and w love every minute of it. And thanks Cat, we love our Setter boy to
