Has everyone contacted Speaker Roberts yet to let him know you want this bill posted for a vote in the General Assembly? If not, please do so immediately. Here's a portion of an email I got from Assemblywoman Karrow today...

Quote:
In order for this bill to become a law, it must be voted on and passed by the General Assembly.  I encourage you, if you have not done so already, to contract Assembly Speaker Joseph J. Roberts (D-Camden) and ask him to post A-595 for a vote.  For your convenience, I have provided his contact information below.

Thank you, again, for your support of my bill, A-595.

Sincerely,

Marcia A. Karrow

Bump.

This is a letter that I copied from MTH that he posted here a while ago.
Congress will be back in session shortly, so if you support this bill, I urge you to send in your letters ASAP!!

In regards to: Assembly Bill Number 595
Assembly Speaker Joesph Roberts, Jr.
Brooklawn Shopping Plaza
Route 130 & Browning Road
Brooklawn, NJ 08030-2797

Dear Assembly Speaker Roberts.,

Assembly Bill A-595, was recently and unanimously passed out of committee and is ready to be posted for a vote before the full Assembly. This bill permits Archery Hunting for Deer within 150 feet of a structure. The purpose of this bill is to allow archers access to those areas where deer tend to congregate during the hunting seasons. Doing so will increase the archery hunter’s ability to reduce the overall deer heard in keeping with the State’s general goals. I and many of my neighbors welcome this bill as a means to stop the extensive property damage and reduce the number of vehicle/deer collisions in and around our neighborhoods as well.
This bill has the full support of every wildlife organization in the State to include the Sierra Club and the Audobon Society. Kindly post this bill for a vote at the commencement of the Fall Season.

Respectfully,

Samuel Yarosh III

I have a question,I thought the current law stated you can't hunt within 450' of any building or structure occupied or not. Last year i hunted with a conservation officer and they wouldn't hunt next to an abandoned delapodated barn because of this. Just want to be clear, thanks.

How could they have done that when they were not even in session?
Bayone I sugest that you 1 check your sourses 2 Try try try to get a more positive attitude toward the work others are doing. You are making it look as if we are shot down before we are half way started and that simply is not true.
MAKE THOSE CALLS!

Good post JB. If you go on the nj leg website, you'll see that the bill has not been voted on yet.

Also bowhunter22, MS22 and myself met with district 24 legislators last wednesday. They encouraged us to keep calling the speaker.

Bayonne, please don't post rumours without research it first. There are plenty of us here that can answer your questions.
