Up closer to you I would look at Whittingham WMA when I go to 3-d shoots there see lots of sign. __________________ Vice President Ocean County Federation Of Sportsmans Club Life Member UBNJ NAHC NRA Member Black Knight Bowbenders

Bucks Co. Pa but prob. moving to Burlington Co. after the new year. I read about some native quail and woodcock haunts in Salem down along the del. bay I wanted to try last year but dogs feet got cut and lost her for a few weeks. Boots this year not again. My semi-wild in Hunderton outside of Stckton is very we5t and there was a lot of water on the property and I never figured the skim ice to cut her the way it did. I learned a costly lesson about that ice lossing the dog for a couple weeks and watching the dog hunt hurt was move pain for me. The dog couldn't even walk but when she hunted she wouldn't stop.
Do you have a dog. I have a setter. |

Yeah I have a lab pointer mix that is my go to dog she works quail and phes real good the woodcock she loves and if they are there she puts them up but only holds point for 30 sec on them, fast shooting. she stays with in 15 to 20 yards most of the time and works a zig zag in front. so she will give alittle look then point I better be ready LOL I got her 10 years ago for water fowl and working my goose contracts but turned into a good sound bird dog. the other dogs are labs good on water fowl still learning on upland. she is use to that skim ice tough feet but still have to watch her. the frag gets her now and again.
yeah starting to see some quail again but still not many, I miss that wildbird hunting. released birds just not the same for me but still fun. __________________ ACP Wildlife Control Services

Hi to all
I am new to the post Could someone please confirm my recent understanding of centerfire ammo and rifles allowed for Groundhog Hunting on public and private land in NJ Any caliber up to 25 caliber and any other caliber over 25 caliber provided you are not using a bullet over 100 gr is allowed. IE 204, 22-250, 223, 17 HMR, 22 mag ,243,6.5/284 etc etc hollow and soft points no FMJ If this is accurate how long has it been so allowed . I was always of the impression we were restricted to 22 rim fire in NJ otherwise a shotgun for Groundhogs etc |

| I don't think chuck hunting with a center-fire is allowed on public land, only private land. Not sure how long this has been allowed. The season ends at the beginning of October I believe. | ||
