GG, I like the name you gave this bird. It fits to a "T."

How many birds can you get in NJ? Who really needs to shoot more then two a year. Is it helping the population or hurting it? If it's helping then why doesn't NY,PA,ME or TX do it? Great bird and awesome score. You had a very good year GG.

The state lets you do it if you have the ground, birds, and time why not nothing goes to waste.
The turkey population is doing great in this state congrats on a great year. |

Those who can DO, others question why? I could but choose not to. Does it make you a better hunter then me if you shoot four, six or eight toms a year? Or just greedy? I guess I have always believed and understood the quote" Limit your kill, Don't kill your limit". I do have an issue with unlimited deer, January & February gun hunting for deer too. I'm talking about just setting a limit a two bird limit like in other states. |

I'm greedy! But then again you already know that. I had the time this year and last to hunt. I bought the tags, cause the state allows you to , and I killed the birds. On state land and private. I also called in birds for other people this year and last, 11 to be exact, when I could have just called them for myself. So I guess I like hunting them, if I'm the shooter or not, I just like being out there.
And I'm not a better hunter than you, you definately spend more time dwelling on all the details , I just spent more gas money than you did. I do agree with you that there are to many birds killed and spooked because of all the hunting pressure. Some of the lands we(you and me) used to hunt are void of turkeys now cause of all the hunting pressure.
I agree that there should be a limit on birds, but the state is making to much money on these permits, they got me for over 200 bucks last 2 yrs, to ever stop and think of the affects they have on the wildlife. So don't hate
2 or 3 birds is enough in this state __________________ Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today.

I would personally shoot every bird the state allowed me to as long as I knew I wasn't depleting the resourse in any one specific area. I LOVE hunting and I am feeding a family. NOTHING goes to waste in my house. And I personally feel that if you are hunting the birds, or any animal that you are harvesting ethically and keeping within the law, wasting nothing, the more power to you
And to all the turkey hunters out there, whether you took 1 bird this year, or 5, congratulations on a great season. And to those who went out and didn't get a turkey, great effort. I commend and applaud you all ![]() __________________ Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, Diet Coke in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!" - Maxine
