right before i walked out the door this morning i decided to bring the mossburg instead of the hoyt. as i was riding down rt29 it was already getting light and it was 5 oclock so now im thinking this is a bad day. well it started off a lil bad i got set up on the side of the hill called a few times nothing for an hour i moved up on the flat sat for 5 minutes and didnt like it. i decided to leave my decoy in the ground and take a lil 200 yrd walk along the ridge calling every 25 yrds or so because the wind was buffering everything. the last 50 yrds i hit the mouth call there it was a close gobble i fell to the ground no tree just me in the middle of nothing. i call one more time and they are right on me . i turn to the left and they are 20 feet away the only bad thing was they were jakes 9 of them the last one was in strut when he came out i let him have it. he was 16lbs quarter inch spurs with a 5 inch beard not what i was after but exciting nonetheless

thanks guys its been a ruff yr.. jakes everywhere the last time i saw mature toms was the first week
sometimes i think those jakes are really dumb though the other 8 flew up in trees and were gobbling while i was taking pictures walking out of the woods i could here them when i was close to the truck __________________ i pay to hunt here....do you "pay to hike here"
