NJH RGS Deer Mount Contest 2008-09 (Free)
RGS & I are doing this with the best intentions. Some of you guys know me so please, I am not trying to pull something over on you guys. This is what I want to do. Will it be successful? Who knows? But let's have some fun trying. Rich & I cannot enter. Rich & I do not get a vote. Rich & I cannot win. However, if there is a tie, we make the final decision. And if there is any type of controversy we make the final decision. Entry Fee: $0 Firearm prize: deer shoulder mount by RGS Archery prize: deer shoulder mount by RGS Entry Requirement: a registered NJH member (or their kid under 18) Deer Requirement: Legally killed in NJ. Checked in NJ. Firearm deadline: 48 hours after the last legal firearm day. NJ time. Archery deadline: 48 hours after the last legal archery day. NJ time. You must either email me your stuff... or you post on NJH. No exceptions. All NJ Div. of Fish & Wildlife laws apply. Be safe. Do not risk anything for this contest. Know your target and beyond. Minimum Requirements: Photo of the hunter with the deer. Photo of the hunter with the tag. Photo of the hunter with the tagged deer. Is this a lot to ask? Not really. With every deer I have killed... taking photos is not a hassle or an issue. Come on now. Its a chance at a free RGS shoulder mount! Optional Requirements: A story to go along with the photos. Or any other information that you think will increase your chances of winning. 12 members will each secretly vote on the best (not necessarily the biggest) firearm deer 12 members will each secretly vote on the best (not necessarily the biggest) archery deer. Rich & I will tally the votes and coordinate the voting. We will have two rounds of voting. First round winners will be any deer that received at least two votes. (Updated 4/20 by dragthor) So we could have as many as 12 (6 bow/6 gun) deer advancing... or 2 (1 bow/1 gun) deer advancing to the finals. With all of the various opinions going around NJH this is not likely. A week after the first round, the 12 members will vote again on the remaining deer. Whomever receives the most votes for gun... wins a free RGS shoulder mount. Whomever receives the most votes for archery... wins a free RGS shoulder mount. Non-members cannot win. Banned members cannot win. Deleted members cannot win. (Updated 4/20 by dragthor) Will a Monmouth County slammer buck win? Maybe. But maybe not. Maybe a kid's first buck will win? Maybe a woman's first doe in 15 years of trying will win? Maybe an active military member's spike will win? Maybe an albino deer will win? Maybe a member's hilarious story will win? Who are the 12 voting members? You guys will select eight. Then, Rich & I each will pick an additional 2. Thoughts? Comments? This is a draft. It sounds great to me.. All we have to do is shoot a deer tag it and send in some pics.. Most of us do that already... __________________ I just want to Hunt...
