Winter hours at all remaining parks would be reduced. All but Liberty and Island Beach state parks would be closed Mondays and Tuesdays from Nov. 1 through March 31. If closed means completly "CLOSED" Ut Oh !! Where will the Deer Clubs go on OPENING DAY of 6 day ? The Orange ARMY will riot !! ![]() ![]() __________________ President-UXBNJ

Call and write your Legislators and Senators!!!!!!
Call or Write Lisa Jackson Call or write the Gov. This issue is very serious because closed means closed! if the parks close it will easly trickle down to F&W. (No place to stock fish, guess you need less fish) (No place to hunt, they will make cuts there too) |

I have written to my legislators and to Jennifer Beck....
I really do not see where the savings come from. How expensive can it be to run these parks? |

Rather than cut some of the "entitlements" and other worthless programs, King Jon is claiming to go after "each department" and extract cuts. I find it striking that he decided to go after Agriculture and Parks fisrt. I find it insulting. __________________ "...but to protest against all hunting of game is a sign of softness of head, not soundness of heart."

From outdoor wire:
Quote: Assemblywoman Alison Littell McHose, representing Sussex, Morris and Hunterdon, noted – correctly – that the majority of the parks set for closure are in Republican areas of the state. Corzine, as you know if you’ve read much about the continued battles between Corzine, the Department of Environmental Protection and conservationists, is a Democrat. “It couldn’t be more clearer,” McHose says,“First he said he plans on eliminating the state’s Agriculture Department, which is one of the most efficiently run departments we have, and now he intends on closing down our state parks. How interesting that most of them are located in primarily Republican territory. “New Jersey parks are not the cause of our state budget problems,” McHose, a member of the Assembly Budget Committee, continued, “a self-serving governor who is clearly out of touch with our residents is.” She also called the governor a hypocrite for going after an entity that actually benefits the state’s economy. “These parks attract millions of recreational visitors and tourists each year that are a much needed boost to the state’s economy and the economies of the regions surrounding these parks,” she explained. “Mr. Corzine should spend his time battling the real problem – excessive government spending, waste and abuse – and not targeting our resources that actually benefit the state. He should take a long, hard look at the waste in so many of our school districts and the abuse in the state’s New Jersey Family Care program.” Maybe so, but if history is any guide, Corzine will pretty much do what he wants as the director of the Environmental Protection agency has proven to be more interested in protecting her job than the environment. So what’s new, right? It may not be good news, but...we’ll keep you posted. --Jim Shepherd __________________ "...but to protest against all hunting of game is a sign of softness of head, not soundness of heart."

| I think I have a good idea to upset the apple cart and keep our parks open what if we all reserve and pay for in advance at least one tent campsite in one of the nine parks that is going to be hit. My though is that if we do it now and reserve times throughout the summer that even if we don't end up using the sites the money goes into the til....Thoughts? I realize we should not have to do this it is total crap and this guy is an idiot I have met him in person he is also arrogant. The reason i am suggesting tent sites is because they are 5 dollars for weekdays and 10 for weekends. In my humble opinion it would get money raised quickly and head him off at the pass until we can vote him down for good. I am just trying to think outside the box. | ||

| And now we know why it was so important for him to GIVE judges 40,000.00 raises. There will be lawsuits if it moves forward. | ||

Is there a link to info about this rally? If nothing else it sounds like an excuse to get out of wallpapering the kitchen.
