I put in the change of address apps today. Any guesses on the wait time.

I walked in to pick up a gun the other day just to find my drivers license had a previous address on it.  I jumped in the car, drove 10 minutes to VA Motor Vehicle and was back in the ACE Hardware and Gun store 20 minutes later.  With the address change the entire transaction was 45 minutes, a free NICS check and 5 minutes of paperwork.

God bless America.

I have to do mine too...Do they still have to send out the forms to check references again even though it's just an address change????

They check mental health, criminal and drug backround again. No fingerprints, and only cost $18.00

-------------

Address changes require the NJ duplicate FID application, and mental health release form.  Check as well....

yes, you have to list references, they may or may not be contacted.

BPD turned it around in record time. Everyone I delt with especially the captain was very courtious and professional.

I thought Parsippany would hold it up. Supposedly the previous town has to send your records. I expected PPD to drag their feet, but they didn't.

So 2 1/2 months?  Courtious and professional?  Maybe, but much slower than it should take.  Sounds like there was some feet dragging somewhere along the lines....

I also live in Bloomingdale, and my address change only took 3 weeks If I knew it was that easy I would have done it when I first moved here.

Last fall in Edison, my address change took about a month. I wish it was faster, but there was no nonsense.

I'll be going for mine soon.  I know a capt. in my town's force, and am a paid Firefighter where my old address was, so I hopefully won't have much trouble.
