Looking for some help with crappie fishing on lake hopatcong.
Questions:  Around what date is the best time to start?  Does it matter what time of the day (am/pm daytime)? What kind of bait do you use?  Where are the best locations on the lake to fish from land?  I appreciate any help.  Thank you.

The time to fish is NOW!

The water is still a little cold so afternoons are working better.(fish till dark).

Small jigs (1/64 to 1/32 oz) under a small float work well.As for live bait, fathead minnows on a size 6 longshank hook with a small splitshot and float is just deadly.

Try fishing the back of the small coves in the northern end of the lake.

small jig heads with a white culy tail fished under a bobber twitch let sit and keep doing that or a fat head i usally dont use a split shot you want it swimming just at the weeds to deep and yull get caught in them and lose alot of fat heads
