I think this is the best way to go as far as scoring.
The reason being is that most people keep a legal fish which will make you measure it anyway before putting it in the cooler. If you know the fish is a short, just take a picture of it(on land where you are fishing ie surf, rocks) before throwing it back and you will receive the minimal points for that fish. Otherwise take a picture of the fish with a ruler next to it to receive the maximum points and qualify for the longest fish bonus points. Blues - 0-15" - 5pts 15&up - 10pts Striper - 0-28" - 10pts 28 & up - 20pts Fluke - 0-17" - 10pts 17& up - 20pts Weak - 0-13" - 10pts 13&up - 20pts Tog(blackfish) 14" and up 15pts Winter flounder 12"and up 15pts Junk fish =Robins, cow nose ray, Dogfish, Skates, sandsharks = 2pts Bonus points will go as follows for the end of the season. Longest bluefish=25 bonus points Longest striper=25 bonus points Longest fluke=25 bonus points Longest weakfish=25 bonus points Longest tog=25 bonus points Longest winter flounder=25bonus points NO bonus points for junk fish Once the scoreboard thread is made, this is what you will need to post to get your points. 1.
