Here are some pictures of some bucks I have been hunting this winter season.  They are mostly nocturnal and have only showed up during the day a few times this season since the rut ended.  They seem to hanging in a group seperate from does.

The big six was hit by me last year.  It was a 15 yard quatering away shot and I was VERY high in a nearby tree.  I still think I hit in the right spot, but somehow he survived.  You can see the bald spot where I hit him  His rack is unharmed from last season and he is perfectly healthy, but he has some weird tumor type things He much smaller last year, so Im guessing he was not affected by the injury much because he increased in body and rack size?

There is also a large 8pt with his head down in one of the pics...he will be a great deer next year

Something hard to understand about what I wrote?  He is perfectly healthy.  Ive watched him all season.  He doesnt limp, he eats, he drinks, Ive watched him chase does and He grew a nice rack this season.  He is healthy.  The tumors dont effect his health at all.  Im not even sure they are caused from my shot last season.

I bet that is the same buck then chris. i may even have some trail cam photos of him on this comp somwhere.

my friend hunts a property off of herringtown road, i used to hunt across the street there. there are some monsters lerking around out there. there is also a beast that goes into the park off of lovers lane almost everynight. when i say beast, i mean beast..biggest deer i have ever seen in my life, including on hunting videos.

sure someone probably will or has at least tried to night jack him...

Chris, i have a spot that i have permission to hunt over that way. you are right, there are alot of much bigger bucks between your spot and my home, although as the crow would fly, its not that far.

i smallmouth fish right over by your spot, i saw some monster rubs back that way. did you ever take a books buck back there ?

just to add, he would have to cross the home core of some really big deer and a few roads, but he may be hitting up the does that bed in my woods..who knows. had an institute for adcvanced study buck in my yard last year... ear tag and all..

Ive been some bordenline P&Y bucks around that spot.  Last year my dad shot a buck on that property that would have been around 120in if it didnt have a broken main beam on its left side.  Here is a pic..

Its possible.  They run the brook.  That buck could be traveling all the way down the brook, crossing the golf course and it would be down your way in no time.

Thats a nice deer, congrats. That deer looks like a buck I used to see off of carson rd..haha..maybe thats why I stopped seeing him..Who knows, guess youre killing all the deer I see

That area you are in is prime. I have deer walk within 10-20 yards of me when I fish the river. They just dont care...Never had a books buck do it, but some younger ones...they just watch me

If you were on the river, at the curver/bend between shady brook lane and brooks bend rd, my friend sused to hunt there. Some lady gavehim permission to hunt her land and park at her house in exchange for meat.

How have you guys been doing on the hammel farm ? we didnt get back to our princeton pike spot this year, but they keep telling us we need to kill some coyotes or we are going to lose our permission

i figured the trespassers would have been taking care of that for us

I only hunt there when the guys who have permission there invite me to go with them.  Those guys dont hunt it as hard as they should, but that area is pretty good.

I think there is still some confusion to who will be in there next season since the old lady passed.

I thought Walts group was almost definetly getting it for next year. Havnt talked to him in a few weeks, since I got hurt...

but he told me if they get it, I am welcome to hunt it and film it with friends. So if they get it, no worries, I will bring you whenever you want.

He said there are some spots he wants to plant food plots, guess who will be doing THAT LABOR ??? this guy..

Oh, you may find this interesting..on my way home from scouting a new piece for next year, yesterday..i swung by our princeton pike spot for a looksy...

i found 2 carcasses, just bones...but the skull on one was really wierd. it was round, wide and had full top teeth. not a deer, not a yote, not a house cat. it appeared to be the size of a bob-cat(let the ridicule begin).

didnt have a camera, didnt bring it home. its puzzling me..

i wanted to go back today and snap some pics, but it will be like a swamp in this weather...

any ideas ??

who knows, next time i can get in there i will grab the skull...its a b*tch to get the feeders back there, thats for sure

Theres a spot like that across Princeton Pike from the Compost Pile....Its Lawrence Twp park property.  There is an island back by the canal that I find shed on every year.  No one is supposed to hunt it but I have a feeling one particular Lawrence cop hunts in there.

We hunt there....Well, down a little ways, on private property.

That Lawrence cop you THINK is hunting there, is and some of his buddies. They are not supossed to be back there and he would get in serious trouble if he got caught.

That entire strip isnt owned my Lawrence Twp, either..just a little piece. They post further than their boundries..good for us

Just a little "heas up"...thats not a public park, from what I know..they dont want anyone back there unless you are on a the trail.

That piece used to be a nursery, and the land was passed to the township in trust.  The Twp land is huge there.  It runs from the little dirt road off Princeton Pike that runs all the way to that historic house, almost all the way down Princeton Pike to where that new mansion is being built and all the way back to the canal.

Not all of it. They own back near the brearly house, and the strips that border the walking trail along the canal. There are 5 privately owned pieces that cut into those woods.

We parked along the road one day while scouting. when we got back to the truck, there was a township car there. they guy said no one is supossed to be in the woods off of the trails...he then proceeded to tell us what was owned by the twp and what was private.
