Will anyone be out in zone 9 tomorrow? I will be out in Black River trying to get my first deer of the year. Any thoughts on deer movement (or lack of) as a result of the crazy weather?

I hunt in Chester and Bernards township and it seems most movement is the last hour of the day.

What parking lot you gonna be hunting from tomorrow Ack? I'll probably hit BR at sunrise... but I'm not sure where I wanna hunt yet. Depends on the weather.

I may go in behind the shotgun range or at the large north lot on Dover-Chester Rd. There were plenty of deer in the swamp last week but I think it will be tough to get back in there tomorrow after all this rain. I'm thinking about setting up a perch above the powerline in the afternoon. Hopefully will catch one moving into/out of the swamp.

I'll be hunting back by the swamp too... I really don't want to drag a deer that far back to my car, so I'm bound to get one

Hunted from the parking lot on Pleasant Hill Rd and didn't see anything this morning. Ground was really wet and the swamp was not the place to be. I'll be back out this afternoon

BestNJ..How did you do at BR on Sat afternoon? I heard a ton of shooting down in the swamp in the afternoon. I saw 1 deer running through the woods at ~4:30...150 yards, no shot.

You planning to get back in there before then end of the season?

Went to Pequest in the afternoon... saw a little bit of sign, but no deer.

The shooting you may have heard could have been from the skeet range...

I was well north of the range. These shots were right below me in the swamp. May have been small game hunters b/c I left at dark and didnt see anyone draggin any deer out of there.

Maybe... the pheasant all congregate down by the swamp. A few years ago I was bird hunting late season and ran into a bunch birds all together. It was the motherload! 10-15 of em must have gotten up at once.
