I heard there used to be alot of deer back there, never hunter there before. But thats where the dead deer with black tounge where found this yr too. so not sure how bad it was hit. good luck and let us know.

used to be gets driven every weekend, don't see half the deer that used to be there. they are all nocturnal in that zone by now

EHD,CLUBS,YOTES  who knows how much of a toll its taken. ive been huntin these woods for 20yrs never seen it this bad before. back in the fall i would get 100 pics a week, now i am lucky to get 4 all week.

what gets me is how much private land that is not pressured but the deer still dont herd up on it.

i think the clubs really need to reconsider "the brown its down" philosophy for a few seasons at least.

My friend and his club killed 17 deer in zone 19 on saturday. I however am not a club hunter and prefer bow hunting.

Hey njbowhunter27, what club?
Posted:  29 Jan 2008 8:35 PM
yea i hear ya all   just cause the state says unlimited deer   dose not mean clubs have to go out and shoot ever single deer they see  i been passing on a lot of does    cause right now the does have our next year deer on the way so why shoot 3 deer at once when u could harvest mature does which give u more meat in one shot and are less likely to have 2 or more fawns i am talking 4 5 year old does   yes they are out there i shot one this year that believe me when u looked at her a hole after she was dressed  out u could fit a coke can there and she weight 130 for a pine deer now that tells u she was old and breed out

Send me a pm and let me know who told you the info.

We killed 17 in zone 48. On 1 drive. Its funny how every1 says there are no deer around. On that drive when we killed 17 there were at least 50 deer that got away. Out of the 17 deer that were killed 13 does 2 button bucks a spike and a shed buck.It was fun as hell. I will say though that zone 19 needs a break. Not nearly as many deer there as there used to be.

Some of the areas in zone 19 get hunted hard.
