Here are a couple of pictures of the really nice buck that my dad shot this season. There is one from when he shot him and then one of the skull & rack that I took last night. It should look really nice if he decides to put it on a plaque. The rack looks great and very big. This buck was harvested in Zone 13(Morris County) Great Buck Pop!

Looks good. Did you bleach the antlers? __________________ "I have long taught that if you can't do it with a 30-06, you probably can't do it."

Great Buck. The antlers look very white. Almost looks like what it would look like if it was found in the woods. Is that the desired look? __________________ >>>---> Shut Up And Hunt >>>--->

Nice job! Van Dykes Taxidermy Supply sells oak or walnut plaques that are offset from the wall for $30. I did two this year and they look great. __________________ Cranford Rod and Gun Club United Bowhunters of New Jersey New Jersey Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs |

In fact, he didn't bleach the skull either, he simply left the rack outside for a few months after he shot him and let the bugs do the work. Although this is a very nice buck, he's killed a lot of big ones and wasn't to concerned about doing the whole bleach thing. I do see the difference in the coloration of the rack as well from when he shot it, that's mother nature. |

Looks great. If he ahot him last week the bone would look the same. I have seen guys cover the antlers with plastic - dark plastic bag material - and they retain a darker hue. __________________ Helping deer go up the food chain since 1979.

when I do my skulls that way I stain the antlers with stain you would use on wood and I paint the skulls with kilz, they come out real nice. how do I make my images smaller so you can add a image to a post? would like to show my european mounts. __________________ "The outdoors was a school that all native sons attanded" Merce Ridgway
