Portable usually means climber. BUT, if you look on the boxes of hang-ons, they say portable. COnfuses the sh*t out of me !!

some of the places i hunt, i carry an aluminum lock-on stand and a set of rapid rails. allows you to get into trees that you wouldn't be able to use a climber on.

You use a linemans strap to put that kind of stand up right?

Chippewa Treestands  Hands down the best hang-on treestands money can buy.

The Brute is the model with the largest platform

I guess just give it a few days and try the site again.

I have a large ITS climber - as Catskill says "you could land a helicopter on that thing!".

I think it was called the I.T.S. Recluse.

I don't belive ITS makes this model anymore, or climbers for that matter (patent infringement/dispute with Lone Wolf).

i just bought a summit goliath at the harrisburg show, cant wait to use it. But i need a couple hang on's

i love my lone wolf alpha hang on with my lone wolf climbing sticks. i get up any tree just as fast or even faster than any climbing stand. its about the same weight as any climber, but unlike a climber i can get up trees with limbs. it also has a leveling platform, which means the tree doesnt have to be perfectly straight to climb.. the most versatile stand i own.

im looking for a lock on, i need a portable mainly for convenience and the stealth aspect of it.

it's light strong has a great seat in and out is easy.I looked at the Lone Wolf over $300 I could get two loggy's for less (just my .02)
also easy to climb if your a big like me 265#'shttp://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj295/reelerin/s7_417965_imageset_01.jpg

For a climber...I have looked at them all and the best I have seen overall is the Treewalker.

Go to Treewalker.com.

I bought mine after looking at them at the Suffern show. The tolerances are so good the top and bottom do not need a strap to keep them together for back packing. They are only 16 pounds and have a larger platform and seat top then the Summit Goliath. My only criticism I would prefer the cable like either Summit or Loggy Bayou who are filing bankruptcy so you can find there stands cheap right now.

For a hang on I have used a ton ranging from a LOC on Lem to my current Big Game...The Big Game is the best overall so far but I want to try the Gorilla with the sling seat. I think that would be almost as comfortable as the climber and have the versatility to use in any tree with my hang on ladders.

Sportsman's guide has the old versian of that above loggy bayou stand for 99.99.  It doesn't include the climber top but if you are using the stand as a hang-on it shouldn't matter to you.  Great savings. Also someone in this forum was selling a loggy bayou portable with a really big platform for about 40 bucks a couple weeks ago. The platforms are big and the stands are reliable comfortable and quiet.
