Went out scouting some of my old spots today.  Looks like someone had their stuff stolen.  He left two notes on the tree.  Anyone from here?

I used to hunt this spot with nothing ever stolen.

I should not ay ever.  I had a stand stolen. I shot a does in the evening and another guy saw me there.  Went back first thing in the am and the stand was stolen.  I got my revenge....He  was thrown off the property and I caught him trespassing on it....called the CO and he lost his license for 2 years.

Public or private? We took a stand from a tresspasser on our property and gave it to the wardens, in Howell. No way he could have entered the property without crossing posted signs.

Sad to say it but you can not leave ANYTHING in the woods period. I feel for the person that was robbed but with so many post about stolen or damaged gear left in the woods you should come to expect it.

funny thing.. there was a guy who used to steal stand all the time.  He used to cut chains, locks etc.. the stand were even found near his property that's how we know it was him.

now i hear he is a game warden..... again hear, do not know for sure.

Stand stealing sucks and is just wrong.

We remove stands that are tresapassers....Leave a note on the tree with  my number....A few have called and got their stand back and know not to trespass....the ones that dont call know they are not supposed to be there and  are afraid of a ticket and we get a stand.  CO said to do it this way.

These anti's and such should have their Man hood taken from them. It's not right to have your crap vandlized, cut in half or stolen for that matter. My Buddy lost his stand 2-3 yrs. ago. mine is 60 yds. away. They had to walk by my stand to get to his and both had cables and locks on them. He is still pissed til this day. I gave him a stand to use for a while then he went and bought his own.

Its amazing how many people have equipment stolen in Allaire. I hunt Allaire a lot and would never leave anything. I also used to mountian bike back in Allaire and you would see stands in like April that werent even locked up. That place has been jammed packed with guys shotgun hunting off of Hurley Pond Road the past few weeks.

I used to hunt in Allaire and there are just too many people in there...hunting and non-hunting, to leave stuff behind.  I bring in a climber and once in a while I'd take it out of the tree and bury it in the leaves but I was going to be returning for night post...I don't even know if I would do that now...

I'm also surprised about how many people here hunt in Allaire...I used to think I was one of the very few that did.

I had a guy set a stand up literally 15 yards away from my stand this season on private property(posted) that I and 4 others have permission to hunt in Zone 12.  My stand was up since late October.  This guys stand shows up a few days before the 6 day firearm season.  I left a note on the stand on Saturday two days before the opener advising him that he was trespassing and that he needed to pull the stand and himself off the property immediately.  I was pissed to say the least, figuring I would be encountering this guy opening day morning.  Turns out, I never crossed paths with the guy, and the stand was finally pulled this past week, almost 6 weeks later.  There was never any indication that the guy hunted the stand, as I was there on a weekly basis with the stand still up.  I could have been an arse and taken the stand(like the property owner suggested I do), but I felt I was doing the right thing.  BTW, was it possibly anyone on this site whos stand that was?

I have only left my stand in the woods twice during my hunting life and that was when I knew I was coming back at first light the next day and it was on private property.  I would never leave anything in the woods I would not want stolen, especially on public land.  I love all my gear and it took years for me to get the right stuff and I would hate to have it taken....by those scumbags out there.

I have had about 6-8 stands taken in 20 years.  It's tough but thats NJ for you
