NJH Rules Enforcement - Official Warning
Enough is enough. Myself and Moderators have no time to play nanny. VenisonEater came to this conclusion a long time ago. My head was in the sand. This is a hunting (and fishing) website. Period. Now does everything have to be super serious and professional all of the time? No. Why? Because outdoors is also about spending time with friends and family. Camaraderie. Helpfulness. And teaching the young bucks by example. Sure there are days when we just need to spend time in the woods alone with our bow. But there are much more times when you need buddies and conversations with guns or fishing poles. As of right now no one is banned except for the daily spammers, known Antis, and guys who pretend to have multiple personalities. 35Whelan was not banned. Rather he asked to be removed, and I happily complied. Unfortunately for some of you, he is not a martyr. rugman and wingshooter are no longer banned. Same goes for some of you other guys who were for banned for a while (i.e., Woodruff Lou). Last chance guys (and girls). 1. DO NOT post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, hateful, harassing, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise a violation of any law. Can you say Walmart, Google, or Dicks stinks? Absolutely. Can you say that an outfitter you went to stinks? Absolutely. Can you say that an NJ outdoor organization is letting you down? Absolutely. A couple of businesses and organizations recently took a lot of heat on here last year and have his since rectified or taking steps to rectify the situation. Others are not. Can you post Jack Spoto’s address, phone number, and email that are publically available on the UBNJ website? Absolutely. Do not post another guy’s address or private information without their permission. You are liable for your actions. 2. NO PERSONAL ATTACKS. While we encourage lively debate, we will not tolerate personal attacks. If you do not like what someone is posting about a topic, either ignore them, or take it up with them via email. Use your brain. Control yourself. If you are really mad... DONT POST. Be a “hot head” offline. No attacks, slander, racism, and other stuff you can't get away with in person. Posting someone’s private message or email publically is a violation (and a poor moral choice). 3. NO VULGAR LANGUAGE (Profanity). SEX. Lots of kids visit this site so take that into consideration when posting sexual images and comments. I cannot tell you exactly what is objectionable but we know it when we see it. Use good taste and show respect to the youngsters. If you are trying to make a point and have your opinion heard, delete the expletives and name-calling. If your point is still there, then post it. Be an adult and lead by example. Learn to disagree politely. Post with honor and dignity. In appropriate avatars will not be tolerated. Tasteful women in bikinis while shooting a handgun… that’s another story. LOL. 4. BE TOLERANT. Some folks use poor grammar, make mistakes and cannot spell very well. Don’t make them feel stupid by pointing it out. Two members come to mind here: Cat and rugman. Need I say more? Nuts. Did I just point them out? LOL… 5. DO NOT TYPE IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS LIKE I JUST DID. Please post threads in the relevant sections. Everyone please stop posting a 100 emoticons on each post. Its annoying (rugman). 6. ASKING FOR MONEY, SPONSORSHIP OR DONATIONS. This is not a good idea...trust me. Contact Kris Krause for approval first. 7. SWEEPSTAKES, GIVE-AWAYS, AND GAMES OF CHANCE. Please contact Kris Krause for approval before posting. 8. DON’T HI-JACK THREADS. Stay on the current topic of the thread. Someone has asked a question and needs an answer. We are all guilty of this one time or another. Please just be mindful. 9. BE SPECIFIC IN NAMING THREAD TITLES. That means when you want to know about back tension, state something like "How do you get a crossbow permit?" and not "Hey, I am so totally clueless". This is useful when others are doing a search on "crossbow permit" plus you will get more replies. Also, please to categorize/start your topic in the appropriate sections. If it’s about fishing, start it in the fishing section. 10. CRIME AND PUNISHMENT. If you violate the rules of NewJerseyHunter.com we may simply remove your text and warn you. For more severe violations we might suspend you from posting for a period of time, or ban you and do other cool stuff I cannot tell you about. We make judgment-calls on the spot depending on the situation and the kind of mood we are in that day. When NJH moderates your profane or inappropriate posts remember, don’t complain that freedom of speech is being quelled. You agree to follow our rules when you sign on here. Profanity, vulgarity, and threatening posts here is the equivalent of yelling, "FIRE!" in the movie theater. The constitution does not allow it, and neither do we. It will get you instantly banned forever. Period. Challenging the decisions of moderation openly on NJH will instantly get you banned forever. 11. BANNING IS SITE WIDE. If you cause trouble in any section of the website - causing yourself to be banned, it will be across the website. Only Dragthor has the ability to ban someone. However, I do listen to the recommendations of others (both Mods and non-Mods). Soliciting for a banned or deleted user will get you banned. Knowingly posting something that you know will get you banned really ticks me off. Although the administrators and moderators of NJH will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages. All messages express the views of the author, and the owners of New Jersey Hunter, LLC will not be held responsible for the content of any message. Anyone can be banned: an organization president, a friend, a hunting buddy, and a Mod. I plan on making lots of improvements to the functionality of NJH once the season is over. Well , so I can come out of jail! all I can say , I found out who my buddies were and for the members that did not stand up and help me out , I wont for get who you are . I did find out you can not fight city hall on this site . I did it by the rules and look what happen . I did miss being here and typing to you guys and gals . maybe you guys think that I cant handle typing !!! I think this is the leadership that was definitely needed. I commend you Kris for stepping up to the plate and making your personal voice known to the NJH community. Let's hope that everyone does their job to make NJH a better place.
