NJ Hunter / New Jersey Hunting / Butcher Reviews & Information / Deer processor near Bloomingdale
Posted:  13 Jan 2008 6:12 AM
I got my third deer yesterday and I want to do something different, not just steaks and roasts.  I was hoping that there was a processor near Bloomingdale that did deer sticks, hot dogs, kielbasa, etc...  Does anyone know of one?  I have the name for someone but he's all the way up in Blairstown.  Thanks!

Thanks Bumhunt, can you give me address or phone number?  I've never gotten a deer processed like that before...I know this sounds stupid, but once I get my deer meat back from the butcher, what do I do?

Good question - Do you bring your whole deer to the Pork Store or just certain pieces once its been butchered? Should you ask your butcher to do anything special if you plan on taking the meat to the Pork Store?

I do my own but Droptine told me last week that he only brings the meat.  I would call ahead in case he wants info like your tag# and License#.

Hey Keahunter, go to the Farmview Pork Store in Pompton Lakes, or use the butcher up on Macopin in WM.

Countryboy, have you used either one for dogs, sticks, etc?

Good idea MMF!

I would just bring the meat. You really don't want to grind up Backstraps. Better yet practice making your own. Making your owned corned Venison  and Pastrami is simple.

I've had just about everything the pork store makes.  Never used the butcher in WM on Macopin, his name's Rich, I have his card somewhere if you want his info.

Jimmy doing it?  Tell him to to just de-bone everything and cut into 10lb. peices then take it to the pork store or where ever you decided to go

Yeah, Jimmy's doing it.  I wrote on the sheet to chunk it up for processing.  If you like the Pompton Lakes guy I'll go there, it's certainly close and convenient.  Thanks a bunch!
