Hey guys just recieved permisson to hunt on a private farm in zone 14. Went out with my girlfriends brother during bow season and shot a small doe and saw a ton of deer. Went back out this past weekend, friday night and saturday all day and only saw 3 deer at last light.
How is everyone else doing this season?? __________________ Proud to be everything liberals cant stand!!

We are doing great in zone 14. Where abouts is this farm you are hunting ? __________________ When a gun-hunter sees the animal he wants- the hunts over. When a bow-hunter sees the animal he wants, the hunt is just begining !

Hey Drop,
Its near the Neshanic Golf Course off of River Road. We saw a lot of deer in early bow but have not seen many lately. We are going to hit the goose hunting harder than deer for the remainder of the season. __________________ Proud to be everything liberals cant stand!!

Neshanic Valley GC is in zone 12.
I am in Hillsborough and have only been seeing does here and there. No bucks in a while. But historicly just after 6 day it really dies off. Been seeing some coyotes and hope one come in a close enough for a shot. good luck. John |

That probably has to do with hunting pressure in the area. I always see a ton of deer in the early season. From summer scouting through mind October. Then, before the rut, bucks bed alot more to conserve energy so we obviously have a drop in sightings.
I cant say that I dont see deer though. Did their food srouce get cut or tilled maybe ? Yea, I have to get out after some Geese someday. __________________ When a gun-hunter sees the animal he wants- the hunts over. When a bow-hunter sees the animal he wants, the hunt is just begining !

Hi Friends,
Happy new Year to everyone ! I am new here on NJ Hunter. Also been away from hunting for sometime. I am looking for hunting buddies (Bow, and firearm) in the area. I live in Hillsborough but willing to travel a bit if anyone wants to hunt together. Thanks I wish you all the best Bill Billy8393@aol.com |

DTine - your right on the pressure it just gets them all wired up. Food is still there as they are hitting the feeder hard but only at night. No day time activity at all. I guess I should spring for a trail camera just to see what is coming in at night.
Bill - welcome to the area. I usually hang out at Gato's Sports Bar in Manville on Saturday nights. Stop by for a beer and some great hunting talk. I'll be out today and tomorrow....well maybe in the afternoon tomorrow.
I have been seeing a coyote every night just not close enough for a shot. Going out to day withg a call. If I see him I will give a few hoots and maybe get a shot. Otherwise hanging for a buck! Good luck and Happy New Year John |

We hunted Zone 14 off Amwell Road for years. Lots of deer but the developments are really putting a crimp on the hunting. We always had to drive out the bucks from some nasty briars/etc. Hunted with the Liedls down there. __________________ NRA Life Member

Well all I had was a couple of does on Monday night. They were nice ones however, hopefully carrying fawns for the next crop.
Activity is still strong at night at the feeder. It is probably time I take it to the next level and set up a trail camera at the feeder just to see what has been showing up. BobM – I am just to the north of Amwell next to Royce Brook golf course. We also are getting squeezed in by development. Had one parcel up the street developed and now a huge parcel behind Falcon Camp is getting excavated for more homes. I think to trick is to practice good deer management and let the small ones and does walk. I tried to talk to a couple of guys from one of the two adjoining gun clubs about it. They are all in favor until opening day when it’s brown it’s down. We are loosing land and with blasting everything that walks we will not have many deer soon also. Happy New Year. John |

Sorry I havent responded guys, I recently had ACL surgery and was unable to do much for a couple weeks.
I thought it might have been the pressure but wasnt sure because it is my first season hunting there! My girlfriends grandfather owns the land and gave her younger brother and I permisson to hunt it whenever we want. There are tons of geese around there and we have seen a lot of deer sign but not many deer so i was just wondering. I hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year!! __________________ Proud to be everything liberals cant stand!!
